Question about LG 32LD450 32 In. LCD HDTV
Generally, the main causes of the problem are included in the following aspects.
1. The incorrect TV and DVD broadcast formats. NTSC and PAL are two of the world's major TV broadcast formats, but they vary depending on how often the system projects color images.
2. Incorrect cabling. If the image connected to the DVD player turns black and white, then check if the connection to the TV is correct.
3. The backlight of the TV screen is abnormal or broken.
4. Objective factors, like whether and connection signal.
You can refer to this article "Why is My DVD Playing in Black and White" and it tells the reasons and how to solve it.

First check color level setting on the tv when on av source input. double check input you are using, yellow video input (not green)
then try another device in that same input, then try the DVD player on another tv. The problem will be either DVD player or incompatibility or bad main board in TV, but usually a DVD or compatibility problem(cheap DVD player)

check to see you have the cables required by the tv. usually you need hdmi or dvid for hd display. digital rights management protocols have resulted in chips in playing devices that allow only the use of the referenced cables to protect content from being copied. in some sets they default to not playing in hd, but still play something.
look there first, otherwise you may have an input source mismatch. follow instructions on the dvd player first, then make sure the tv has compatible settings.
if that does not solve, you have a service issue with one or both.

Connect the Wii and the DVD player to different ports on the TV to and any other device to the port in which the Wii and the DVD player were connected to check if the issue is with the port.
If other devices also display in black and white after connecting them to the port to which the Wii and the DVD player were originally connected then the ports require servicing.
