We have not used our dvd player for some time. Tonight when I put on a disk it run in black and white not color. What could be the problem and how do I go about fixing it.
Hi i am shantanu . if your dvd supports ntsc then change your audio video format of tv to auto/ntsc mode

IF you have a Modern DVD player hooked to a Modern TV then you most likley have 3 color coded cables running from the back. RED GREEN and BLUE and thats just the way your TV see it. If your TV is Not showing RED but the picture looks like a black and white with some Strong shots of Yellow and Blue with some green. Then the RED cable is loose or bad, Check it or Replace it.
The same prosedure for other Colors.
Hope this Helps.

I'm assuming you're using the yellow ended video cable and two audio cables hooked up to your TV to display the signal. If so, I would just make sure they are connected in the correct output jacks on your dvd player and that they match up with the input jacks on your TV. If so, then I'd try another DVD player to see if that one plays OK.
