Clear the paper jam

No Paper in the machine I have "clear the paper jam" message on the LCD - I've unplugged everything, removed and replugged in the adapter, the mains plugs, the plug into my laptop and short of putting a hammer into it, I have run out of patience. Please please help me as it's driving me nuts as I'm in the middle of moving - I've packed my sense of humour and gone beyond my wits end. Thanks

Paper jam in printers:

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Its always saying that BACK COVER IS OPEN we already check it for many times but its intact and in correct possition. and also the paper wont feed the machine.

Hi there!!
The message that you're getting means that either the back cover is not closed securely or there's a jammed paper inside. Here's what you can do to clear the message:
-Please unplug the fax machine for your safety -Open the front cover -Remove the toner & drum assembly (theres a handle in the center of the drum/toner assembly, just pull it towards you. -Remove any pieces of paper stuck or the jammed paper -Remove the toner from the drum and check for any other pieces of paper stuck -Once everything is clear -Reinstall the toner back into the drum and the drum & toner assembly to the fax machine. You should hear it click into place once installed correctly -Close the front cover & plug in the power cord. That should clear the message
Hope this helps, Thumbs up if it does, thanks!

As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

HP 5510 says clear paper jam. There is no jam

You could try unplugging the printer from the wall outlet, wait a few seconds then replug. Often times HP printers require a memory reset to clear up problems. There is no need to unplug from the computer, just the outlet.

Paper jam and still won't print

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Before you can clear the error message, you must locate where in the unit the paper is jammed.

Unplug the machine for safety. Now follow these instructions based on where the paper jam is located.

1. Pull the paper tray out of the machine.
2. Pull out the jammed paper.
3. Reset the machine by opening the Upper Jam Clear Cover and then closing it.

If you cannot remove the jammed paper from the front of the machine, or the error message still appears on the LCD after you have removed the jammed paper, please go to the next step.

4. Remove the Lower Jam Clear Cover from the back of the machine. Pull the jammed paper out of the machine.

5. Put the Lower Jam Clear Cover back on. Make sure the cover is set properly.

6. Open the Upper Jam Clear Cover. Make sure that there is no jammed paper left in the corners of the machine.
Note: If the paper is jammed under the print head, unplug the machine from the power source, then move the print head to take out the paper. 7. Close the Upper Jam Clear Cover.

8. Close the output paper tray cover and slide it forward, then push the paper tray firmly back into the machine. While holding the paper tray in place, pull out the paper support until it clicks and unfold the paper support flap.

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Paper jam message

Look for little pieces of paper that get stuck in the rollers, also verify that the gears and roller didn't get misaligned when you cleared the jam.
Good Luck,
