I cannot remember how to get to the ink - Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer

It's mean "ink out". Not actually "inK", but ink level counter reached zero. If using original ink tank, just replace with new one. If using "hardware resetter", reset ink level counter. If using CIS ink tank, it will be auto reset.
Remember, it's program not actual ink. So, if you reset it, ink level will show full, even if you didn't refill ink tank.

use the menu on the printer and select the printer options-> ink cartridge-> new ink cartridge and the ink meter should be reset.
Remember that the printer does not actually read the amount of ink in the cartridge it makes predictions about the ink levels based on the number of pages printed on the cartridge.

Any ink or toner cartridge is refillable, For ink cartridge, check for the small pin hole at the top of the cartridge to inject the ink refill. But remember that the ink should be compatible with your ink cartridge model. Good luck

Just open the top of the printer and manually grab the device and move it to the center. Then take out the ink and place the new ink in. Remember to take the protective strip off the new ink.

Press print button. Choose replace ink. Ignore this two steps if the display on your printer is Colour Ink is Empty.
Open cover. Press the round side of the ink cartridge holder arm and the holder will pop up. Take out the ink cartridge. Put in the new cartridge and pop the holder arm back by pressing it down.
Remember to remove the seal below the new ink cartridge before replacing it.

first turn on you printer.

second open you cover then you will see the print head cartridge is running out i think he will stop in you left hand side or right hand side.wait for he stop running.

third after stop running plug out ink just press down ink about 45 degree then you can take out ink.remember when you put out ink see number ink before installation.

4.when install ink remember to take out plastic sticker gum inside ink.now install ink jus put in inside by 45 degree the press up him after that is ok

5.close the cover and try to print.i think black ink in left and colour in right i no sure but try .... ok....

there is one thing that if you refill the cartriage and then use again then still ink indicator shows low ink as its' ckt is designed so.

there is no problem you can print easily.
your printer will show correct ink level when you put in new cartriage.

but remember one thing that if your printer stops printing and shows message on computer that no ink in cartriage ,, then you need to reset printer counter, (this resetting process is present in your printer manual)

so no problem in printing, it shows low ink because the circuit inside it is designed soo.

so that you purchase new cartriage.
(remember : you need to reset the counter , refer to manual)

Yes, most Lexmark cartridges as well as many other manufactures use something called 'Smart' Chips in the bottom of the ink cartridge. Usually unplugging your (about 10 seconds) printer resets the memory in the printer. Hope this helps!
