Try this utube link. I did it and it solved the problem in about 30 seconds! Don't spend any money or send out your unit. This does it.

there is a sensor for that. Either a switch or an LED light sensor. Either something is broken causing the sensor to fail or it is a circuit board issue.

I had the same problem. There is an internal reset button just above the lamp that needs to be reset. You have to take the cover off, which would void your warrantee, but it's quite easy. My lamp only had 660 hrs, and I bought a new one too. So now I have an extra. My guess is that my filter was getting clogged causing an overheating situation and tripping this reset button which I'm guessing is a heat sensor.

I frequently had this error message code 2,156,50 with my CANON PIXMA MG3500. The error code tells you there is a USB problem. I re-installed the Software, used new cables, bypassed USB Hubs and and and........ Result: Sometimes it works for the moment then it stops working a few days later but nothing is really reproducible. In the meanwhile I think I found out what it really is. In my case it has nothing, really nothing to do with USB connections (possibly in other situations it has to do with it). To solve it do the following: Shut the Computer down, switch your CANON on and OPEN THE FRONT FLAP. The restart your Computer. As you all know the PIXMAS will not print when the fron flaps are not opened. It seems so that keeping the flaps shut when you just scan (there is no need to insert paper in that situation) error code 2156,50 is initiated forcing scans to stop. Since I leave the front flap open the Problem never reocurred.
Hope that helps other users as well. REG. Gerd

Hello

Buy a smart chip resetter. It is available online for about $10.

Wipe clean the Epson cartridge using a paper towel. Pay special attention to the area where you attach the chip-resetter. Gently clean the copper nodes at the back end.

Clip the Epson chip resetter to the cartridge's back. Make sure the resetter's end with the button comes on the top.

Press the button on the top of the resetter and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds. This activity will restore the default OEM settings of the cartridge. The tiny LED light on some chip resetter models also indicate that the smart chip has been reset. The printer then recognizes the cartridge as full.

Remove the chip setter from the cartridge by pressing the release clip on the resetter's bottom.

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.
