I had same thing happen after a fresh Windows install. It was hard to figure out since it had been working fine until then, but luckily it is simple to fix. Open the Start Menu > Settings > Printers and Faxes folder. Then right-click on the Canon MF4100 Series printer and choose Printing Preferences. In there, change the Paper Size to Letter (instead of A4). You may also have to do this in the Print setup for whatever program you're using to print.

I realize this is an old post but my hope is someone else will benefit from my solution. I had the same problem on the exact model. I too believed it was a problem with the sensor that shuts off the motor when the pencil is sharp. I decided the best solution was to disable the shut off sensor. It was a bit of a SWAG but it made sense when I looked at the wiring. After snipping one of the sensor wires it works fine - it just doesn't stop when the pencil is sharp. Which is totally fine by me! The attached pictures demonstrate which wire to snip once you are inside the unit. Pretty easy to access by taking off about 8 screws on the bottom. Hope this helps!

Try accessing the menu on the printer and it should have some printer options that you can use to tell the printer you installed a new cartridge

Error B200 refers to a bad printhead. You may have ran out of ink and the printer didnt catch the ink level on time, which caused it to glitch to error B200. There are a few tricks you may try to fix this, but most likely the printhead needs to be replaced. Your printer needs a printhead which is not expensive at all. $28.99 free shiping:
