Take your door off and inspect your switch. It is possible that you did not have the door seated properly.

SOURCE: PT-45LC12 Problem after startup

When the lamp flashes 4 times this is what the error code means IC 2301 pin 11 has detected an LCD error which is caused by an error in the LCD power CBA. which means the lamp voltage has become more than 130 volts or less than 30 volts. Or the lamp current is more than 5 amps, or the lamp is cracked. Its one of thos 3 reasons that will make the lamp indicator blink 4 times. Hope this helps. If you need the service manual for this model you can get one emailed to you from the following link.

SOURCE: TV shut off while watching and won't come back on

It seems this is a self diagnostic function. the official sony codes are as follows

  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
  • Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.
It sounds like you have a video input problem. Have you unhooked all inputs from the TV and tried to power it back on by itself? Hope this helps

SOURCE: power light flashed red 4 times then repeats no pic,new bulb/fan!

Check the fan that cools the bulb. It is directly behing the bulb. It should turn on when the power comes on. It apparently has a safety to protect your tv(and home). mine is in the process of going out. looking for online solutions as we speak.

SOURCE: TV not working after replacing lamp

yes, the door has to engage a switch and if it doesn't the tv will not come on it usually has a 3 blink error if this is the problem. Is your red light flashing in a 3 blink series?

Tv keeps turning off i just replaced bulb 4 months ago

Some lamp door need to be installed as though they are hinged at the bottom. Remove the lamp door, insert the bottom of the door first, then swing the top inward. Secure it and give it a try. The reason behind this, the lamp door switch is positioned in such a manner that if the door is installed straight on, it pushes the switched are up. When the cabinet expands, due to normal heating, the switch moves just enough that is hits the off position. When installed correctly, with a hinge like motion, the switch will be pushed down, in the correct position. Give it a go and let me know it that does the trick.

Mitsubishi wd 65733: new bulb, 1 month ago, worked fine 1 1/2 wks; goes off (audio & video), orange blinks 36 times, code 32; comes on after atleast 15 min., stays on anywhere from 10min to 2 days,...

The only thing that could cause the yellow light to blink after the new lamp is that the lamp lid or access door is not placed correctly or there might be some debris between the door and the door seat to where the door sensor switch is not being activated or the switch is erratic. Try using some compressed air to clean the switch and the door seat, that might do it for you. Thanks!

Picture blinks out and in

If you haven't replaced the lamp recently, its the likely cause. If the lamp is known to be good, its possible that the ballast board (lamp driver/power supply) is defective. And, in some cases, the lamp door interlock switch may be the culprit. So make sure that the lamp door is properly aligned so the switch engages properly.

Chances are the lamp is not bad. Is the lamp door reseated properly? The is an interlock on that door that must be activated in order for the set to turn on. If the unit was woking before the lamp went out this may be the problem

HELP

I had the same issue. Replaced the lamp and now mine is working. Normally this is a sign that the bulb is out, however - I would say now that either:
1. Your lamp is defective.  2. The balast in your TV is defective.
I would check out Discount-Merchant.com - they can help.
