I have a Panasonic PT-52LCX66 television that I bought just over 4 years ago. I have replaced the bulb for the second time just 3 months ago and now the set will just shut off after about 3 minutes of being powered on. The screen goes black and the green led light will flash. To get the picture back I will press the power button so the led starts to flash red then I will press the power button again and the light will begin to flash green again. After about a minute the picture will come back on and does not go out again even if I watch tv for 3 hours. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My PT52LCX66 randomly "turns off", the green light flashes for about 20-30 seconds, and it comes back on again.

We had the same problem with our PT52LCX16. After reading some comments from others with the same problem, we put the old lamp that we replaced only 3-1/2 months ago back in as a test, and have not had the problem since. Apparently we bought a defective lamp.

Lamp is blown off

The PT52LCX66 Comes with a one year factory warranty. In most cases the bulb is a normal wear and tear item and would not be covered. (Kind of like the batteries in the remote). I can tell you if you are past a year you will have to buy a bulb and there are some good prices on-line. Approx $100-$300 for the bulb which usally lasts on average about 3-5 years. If you are still with in the one year factory warranty, you can call panasonic and give a good arguement. (Not if in a commercial setting)

How to reset lamp meter

I have a PT-50LCX63 unit. After 5 years and 4 bulbs, a "reset lamp" warning showed up every time I turned on the tv. I have to say that after a few weeks, the message ceased on its own. I don't know if all models eventually reset or turn off, but I could not find any other information on the direct way of resetting. I find the warning a waste of time since the bulbs are good for 10 -14 months. Sadly I missed the class action suit that dealt with the premature lamp failures. I am looking for a new tv at this point. Bulbs have cost me $1200.00 since I bought it. The warning is supposed to allow you the option of replacing the lamp before it fails, Ha! what a joke...Thanks for reading.
