Use your knuckles to knock on top of cabinet just above disc tray door while at the same time pressing open button,99% of the time disc tray will open.The problem you have is caused by a worn out belt drive or the tray is out of alignment.The disc tray belts only cost $2,when tray is open you can see the minature belt that controls door to the right.Use twizzers to remove and replace.Belt size 1.9

Copy content from your DVD to the HDD (hard drive) - then copy content from HDD back to a blank disk. Will not copy protected DVD's. You can also download another intruction booklet for it from the Lite0n website.

the rather in-elegant solution I use is to lift the unit half inch or so, and drop it. the door then opens and you can insert the disc. if a disc is in the unit, it opens just fine.

With .avi files the issue is usually which video codec has been used to encode it - all players will have certain codecs installed, and if the second player you describe does not have the approprtiate codec then it will struggle to play the file - occasionally the audio codecs can have the same effect, also on video. In your video conversion program you should be able to choose from a list of codecs to use to encode the .avi file, check which one you used and then check it is installed on the computer that is experiencing the problem. Windows media player, if it is fully updated should be able to cope with the majority of codecs, the best player for .avi files at the moment is DivX player, available free for download at; http://www.divx.com divx player also may need to be fully updated after you install it, this is an easy procedure, just click "Check for new versions" in the "help" menu to make sure you have the latest divx codecs installed Hopefully this will allow you to play the files on both machines. If you still have trouble, then type the name of the codec used by your converter program into a search engine, and you should find a location to download it from with installation instructions. Not all disks are compatible and you have just found this out for yourself. Stick with what works.

Your lite on has lost its mind and needs replacement. Meanwhile a non rewritable disk cannot be erased. If not finalized it may not be read on another machine but the originating machine can read it.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Door wouldn't open on one of those I found - the tiny drve belt at the front under the tray was limp but replacement didn't fix it. Next I tried a bigger motor pulley off an old PC drive - sometimes opened, sometimes didn't. You can remove the bezel off the front of the tray to expose the manual release, you can use a toothpick to press that - sometimes the tray eases after a while and starts working - sometimes you have to give it a shove.

Mine was a Sony TS-P532 DVD in a Model GX315 player. A BLU-RAY disk got inserted and won't eject. Remove the player cover and on top of the drive is a 3 X 3 (approx) metal plate with a plastic wheel visible in it. Un clip the two sides of the metal plate and it will pivot up and the disk can be removed.

You must connect a digital TV box between your arial and your Liteon, so the arial cable goes into the digital box, and use a SCART cable from the digital box to the Liteon. Then record using the SCART input on the Liteon. Another SCART cable can be connected from the Liteon to your TV, so you can view what you have recorded.
