You can try Leawo DVD Ripperwhich is the best DVD to AVI converter capable of converting DVD to AVI file format. Or you can try some other AVI player software tools to try to play the AVI files.

With .avi files the issue is usually which video codec has been used to encode it - all players will have certain codecs installed, and if the second player you describe does not have the approprtiate codec then it will struggle to play the file - occasionally the audio codecs can have the same effect, also on video. In your video conversion program you should be able to choose from a list of codecs to use to encode the .avi file, check which one you used and then check it is installed on the computer that is experiencing the problem. Windows media player, if it is fully updated should be able to cope with the majority of codecs, the best player for .avi files at the moment is DivX player, available free for download at; http://www.divx.com divx player also may need to be fully updated after you install it, this is an easy procedure, just click "Check for new versions" in the "help" menu to make sure you have the latest divx codecs installed Hopefully this will allow you to play the files on both machines. If you still have trouble, then type the name of the codec used by your converter program into a search engine, and you should find a location to download it from with installation instructions. Hope this helps, ask again if you still have trouble :)

My Philips Portable DVD Player dont read avi files, how can I write my avi files to dvd discs to be readable.

Get a DVD burner program, like Nero, then follow the directions.

If you're running Windows, you can download Windows Live Movie Maker, if it's not already on your computer, and use it to convert the AVI's to DVD.

I have a dvd player - DV200MW8. I have files on my computer in avi format. What formats will this dvd player play?

This DVD player only supports DVD and Audio CD format. There is no Divx decoder so your avi. files wont play on this player. It does not even support MP3 music files.

I want to convert an avi extension video file to wmv

"will converting an avi extension file to wmv make it work on a dvd player??"

No, a DVD player uses .VOB files

"I have a Philips GoGear SA 3020 and it only supports wmv files. Can I somehow convert an avi extension to wmv?"

Your device is only 2GB so it won't hold a lot of video content but wmv files are generally smaller then .avi.

Go to http://www.videohelp.com/guides?searchtext=&tools=&madeby=&formatconversionselect=AVI+to+WMV&howtoselect=%3B&orderby=Date&listall=1&hits=25&archive=0&search=Search+or+List+Guides

That will give you a place to start. Have fun :)

There is no need to convert iso. Better you go to select file and select all the avi file you need to write on the CD/DVD. The files will be transferred on your disc.
