The ADF on the LAserjet 3055 doesn't work. There is no paper jam and I even installed the scanner fix on the HP support page. I am trying to scan and it keeps saying there is an error, or waitin on PC or "document loaded"

Remove any paper from the copyboard glass before using the ADF.
Straighten any curls or wrinkles from
documents before putting them on the document tray. If this is not
possible, do not scan these documents using the ADF. Instead, use the
copyboard glass or make a photocopy of the documents and scan the
photocopies.
Remove staples, paper clips, and any other materials from documents.
Avoid documents with tears, perforations, or punch holes.
Do not use the ADF to scan sheets of uncommon paper or other media, such as the following:
-
transparencies
-
gummed-backed paper
-
magazine pages
-
lightweight ("onionskin") carbons
For paper smaller than 5 inches (127 mm)
by 7 inches (178 mm) or larger than 14 inches (356 mm) by 8.5 inches
(216 mm), use the scanner glass instead of the ADF. Paper smaller than
the minimum size may cause a paper jam.
For paper lighter than 16 lb bond (60 g/m sq) or heavier than 32 lb bond (120 g/m sq), use the scanner glass instead of the ADF.
Before scanning, always push the front of the ADF downward to the scanner to ensure that the magnetic latches are engaged.
Step 1 - Load the Paper
Besides the instructions below, quick
reference decals on the input tray and access hatch show the order of
steps for paper loading.
Turn on the scanner.
Ensure the scanner's scanner glass is free of paper.
Turn the green paper load lever into an upright and open position. Refer to decal number 1 located on the ADF access hatch.
Put the top end of the paper stack face up on the input tray. Refer to decal number 2 and pointer arrows on the ADF input tray.
Push the paper stack up against the
green document guide and slide it right against the green registration
stop, which is in the middle of the paper load window.
Turn the green paper load lever 45
degrees into the closed position. This will secure the paper stack.
Refer to decal number 3 on the ADF access hatch. The ADF is now loaded
and ready for scanning.
Step 2 - Scan the Document
The ADF works with many software packages
that are compatible with the HP ScanJet color scanners. To scan a
document, refer to the user's manual of the software package being used.
To Scan a Single Page
To scan a single page while the ADF is installed on the scanner, do the following.
Remove any pages from the ADF input tray.
Raise the ADF.
Place the page on the scanner's copyboard glass.
Lower the ADF all the way and do the scan.

ISSUE:
How to correct the HP LaserJet 3050z, 3050 All-In-One, 3052, 3055, 3390 and 3392 versatile printer if this error is reported: Document Feeder Jam
SOLUTION:

Remove any jammed media with care.Take out the page gently.
NOTE:
Take care not to tear the paper.
Close the ADF cover plate.
Clear the jammed media from ADF (HP LaserJet 3390, 3392, 3052 and 3055).
Open the ADF cover plate.
NOTE:
Check whether all packaging straps inside the ADF are removed.
Unload the jam clearance component.Lift the two handles with both hands until the component clutch is released.Rotate and lift the jam clearance component, and then put it aside.
Lift the green handle, and rotate the paper picker until it is opened.
Gently remove the page without tearing it.If you feel resistance, go to the next step.
Open the ADF cover plate, and loosen the media gently with both hands.
When the media are stopped, pull the media out gently along the shown direction.
Close the cover plate of the flat scanner (HP LaserJet 3390, 3392, 3052, 3055).

Insert the jam clearance component to reinstall it.Press the two reeds until the component is properly engaged.Install the clearance component correctly. Otherwise, paper jams will continue to occur.
Based on the assumption it's mechanically ok, check the cable connection between the document feeder and the base, if damaged or worked look it can cause errors. If it is a sensor error, check for a small bit of paper or even a staple from a prior jam.
Try cleaning the rollers in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
It might temporarily solve the problem, but rollers do have a limited life time, so you will eventually need new ones.
Part info:
5851-3580 - Automatic document feeder (ADF) paper pick-up roller assembly Price: $15.57
Here's a link to the full service manual for your HP 3055. It's too large to post here (15MB) but I've hot linked it for you so you can download it to resolve your issue with the ADF. Look at pages 44 thru 46. Pay special attention to the rubber pad (separation pad) that is under the 2 roller peice as it is what keeps the doc feeder pulling one sheet at a time.
Hope that helps you. If so hit me with a FIXYA, If not send me a message or reply and I'll try and walk you through it.
