HP LaserJet 3055 Won't Scan

This All In One works great except when I try to get it to scan it won't. All programs say the document feeder is empty when all have plenty of paper.

    Scan button does not work. States 'waiting for PC'. Work around, bypassing the button on the 3055 will not scan either.

    When I try. I get a message from the HP LaserJe....... Scanning waiting for PC and after awhile I get a new message. Scanning Error and Scanning reserved for PC scan.



    Do I have to download something to my PC or??



    Any help will help xP

Dears

My hp 3055 is working fine on the network bt problem is "SCAN TO" Button is not being configured with the PCs.It displays all the PC names bt not able to scan. it diplays an error "Unable to Connect".
can any body help me out of this matter

I had the same problem,
i found that in hp's driver support page there is a fix for that problem
it's called a scanner fix.

There is no need to change the mode. When the document is loaded on the document feeder, the screen displays "DOCUMENT LOADED" and shall copy or scan this document. To copy or scan from glass, DO NOT LOAD ANY DOCUMENT IN THE FEEDER. The printer will automatically copy / scan from glass.

Please insert your originals into the automatic document feeder
Try holding the table top lid down gently while you feed it into the document feeder. It may be that it is not reading the top as closed to defer to the feeder.

  • Clear the jammed media from ADF (HP LaserJet 3050, 3050z).
  1. Open the ADF cover plate. c01075161.gif
  2. Remove any jammed media with care.Take out the page gently. NOTE: Take care not to tear the paper. c01075162.gif
  3. Close the ADF cover plate.
  • Clear the jammed media from ADF (HP LaserJet 3390, 3392, 3052 and 3055).
  1. Open the ADF cover plate. NOTE: Check whether all packaging straps inside the ADF are removed. c01075163.gif
  2. Unload the jam clearance component.Lift the two handles with both hands until the component clutch is released.Rotate and lift the jam clearance component, and then put it aside. c01075164.gif
  3. Lift the green handle, and rotate the paper picker until it is opened. c01075165.gif
  4. Gently remove the page without tearing it.If you feel resistance, go to the next step. c01075166.gif
  5. Open the ADF cover plate, and loosen the media gently with both hands. c01075167.gif
  6. When the media are stopped, pull the media out gently along the shown direction. c01075168.gif
  7. Close the cover plate of the flat scanner (HP LaserJet 3390, 3392, 3052, 3055). c01075169.gif
  8. Pull down the green handle. c01075170.gif
  9. Insert the jam clearance component to reinstall it.Press the two reeds until the component is properly engaged.Install the clearance component correctly. Otherwise, paper jams will continue to occur. c01075171.gif

Not scanning or copying when using the ADF on HP laserjet 3055
Based on the assumption it's mechanically ok, check the cable connection between the document feeder and the base, if damaged or worked look it can cause errors. If it is a sensor error, check for a small bit of paper or even a staple from a prior jam.

HP 3055 model scaner problem
Document feeder error means that the printer is expecting you to have a document in the ADF "automatic Document Feeder" on top. If you are having this on the laptop, go into the scanner set up on your laptop, and change the device from document feeder to flatbed. It should work fine. You can also mimic the settings from your desktop to your laptop.

Hp laserjet 3055 all in one
It was not the laster jet 3055 problem at all. It was the program that I was trying to run the scanner through. Seems as though the previous employee destroyed the program and that is why it was showing only lines when I would try to scan anything. Thank you for your support. Love hp products.
