Proposed solution

Creative Jukebox 3
  1. Remove the battery cover
  2. Partially remove the battery
  3. Press and hold STOP button
  4. Slide the battery back into position - the unit should power on.
  5. When the CREATIVE logo appears on the display, release the STOP button then immediately press and release the PLAY button.
  6. The following options will appear on the display:
  • Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players hard disk)
  • Format All (Formats the players hard disk - Note: all contents will be lost)
  • Reload Firmware (Reloads the Operating System on the Jukebox. Note: Reloading your OS, will not effect the contents of the files stored on your Jukebox Zen. Select this option ONLY if you have access to a PC and you have downloaded the necessary firmware to install.)

Comp not recognizing mp3 device

to gabby, some computer may not even recognize mp3 player from a removable disk, i would suggest that your mp3 player will serve as a back up...
tranfer all your music to a folder to a fixed drive like drive c: then change the format w/c suits for your pc's media player compatibility like mp3 formats then, after your done transfer again all your songs to your back up mp3, or better yet scan all your music w/ an anti virus like kaspersky, hope this would help

Uknown format

When using your MP3 player for the first time you should format it. Formatting prepares the disk (storage medium) for any reading or writing. It erases all information on the disk, and tests for any bad sectors or errors. Below are the steps for formatting your player: -Connect the disk storage (MP3 player) to your computers USB port. If the computer pops up a window asking what do you want windows to do? Click cancel. -Right click on My Computer and click on Explore. Look for the drive Removable Disk (E:) [The letter drive may vary depending on your computer] This is your MP3 player. -Right click on the drive Removable Disk (E:) and click Format… A small window will pop up displaying Format Removable Disk (E:) Click Start. Read the warning and click OK. Format is complete. This procedure can be done occasionally to erase all data on the disk storage.
