    Hi roquehanzo...
Double left click "Hy Computer"...look under "Devices with removable storage"...Your player should be listed there..if not
    *******************************************************************************************************************
Try this solution to your problem.
    Go to Device Manager
To get to Device Manager you will:
Right click on My Computer>Properties>click the Hardware Tab>Device Manager.
After you are in Device Manager look for your MP3 player or Unit.
Here you should see no "Yellow" exclamation points.
If you do they they are telling you that you have a device conflict.
If you currnetly have your unit plugged in, you may notice the "unknown device" which would be your Player or Unit.
If you unit has an exclamation point by it, then you will need to click on it and delete it.
After you remove all devices with conflicts then click on refresh and search again for your MP3 player/Device.
The computer should install your device this time and solve your problem with connection of the MP3 player/Device.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up.

Go to my computer. Select your mp3 player and right click. Select format. Beware that this will also delete all files to run your mp3 file. I suggest if you just want to clean all the music of to just reset it back to factory settings.

It is entirely possible to open the player and access the battery, however it will not be cost effective as this is a fairly old player and the replacement battery will be near impossible to locate.
as for new MP3 players, I would recommend the Sansa Clip as it has been rated as having exceptional battery and sound quality, it will meet your music needs and can be had for less than $30USD.

    Hope this helps.

so your battery is weak. if it is a lithium battery throw it away. Nickel based batteries (nimh or nicd) can be refreshed by a good battery charger.

It would depend on how you charge the device.

If you charge it part of the way, and then take it with you and use it, and repeat this many times it can cause this issue.

If this is not the case, you have a faulty battery and it needs replacing.

In future, drain the battery at least once a week and then charge it all the way.
