My camera won't turn on and the battery is good. I had the camera set on "P" and showed friends some pictures I had taken by moving the pictures in and out and centering them on the LCD screen. I shut the camera off and then a few minutes later when I turned it on nothing happened. Thinking it might be the battery I bought a new one and tried it but it did not come on.

Check the LCD display. Is there a symbol of a flower in a pot? If so you have accidentally left the camera set to "macro" (close focus) mode. if this is not the case then add a comment and I'll provide the next most likely cause.

Usually the macro setting is activated by pressing on one of the thumb-pads around the select button, it will also be marked with a flower symbol. If I'm wrong about how to deactivate macro, then add a comment and I'll research a more accurate answer for you.

If the card was one that was previously used in another camera, you can't use it in this camera without formatting it. Move the pictures to a computer and format the card via the camera (remember that all data on the card will be erased). Before formatting the card however, make sure the battery has sufficient charge as this process can take some time. Also remember to never interrupt this process as it can damage the card. The format option can be found in the settings.
Note: pictures taken on one camera can't be viewed on another camera.

Try NOT connecting your cameras to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

When I print photos, it doesn't show the date on the photo. Also , when I scroll down to Date/Stamp on the menu, it is always "off". And I can't change the setting. Help

You haven't said what make/model your camera is, so it is hard to advise.

Without knowing the camera, I am guessing that you may be in the wrong mode when trying to change this setting. You won't be able to change it while reviewing pictures already taken. You can only change it for pictures to be taken subsequently. Once pictures are taken, you won't be able to add the date stamp, nor remove it if it has been stamped.

It may be that it won't allow you to set this if you haven't already set the date and time in your camera. I can't see why this setting would be shown at all if it was not possible to turn it on (i.e. if your camera did not have this feature).
