SOURCE: i cant put a tape in!

when mechanism pops out to eject, wait until it completly comes out, deattache battery immediately, and Pull lever as per below mentioned picture. Cassette door will be open and place cassette. Close it and attache the battery. Camera is ready to Record or Playback.

SOURCE: "reinsert tape" message

I thought it was crazy too, but I fixed the problem by hitting the battery side of the camcorder with the palm of my hand. I'm going to by a new camera as soon as I can dump all my tapes from this one, but heah... at least it's working again.

After you put in the tape and push the record button it will start recording for 3 to 4 seconds. I did notice that the drive motor as you look through window to see the tape moving. The tape seems to be...

Well you said there was a tape with it and that you could see it moving.
But, you have it under Digital Cameras which generally use flash media, nowadays.
Some older camcorders used tape.

I think that the head may be magnetized, or the mechanism for driving it is binding. At any rate, if I were working on it, I wouldn't want to put much effort into fixing it, because tapes were always so troublesome compared to today's flash memory cameras.

VCR tapes "eaten"

I'm sure all it requires is a "more" up-to-date recorder (although up-to-date doesn't exist for that these days because of all the DVD's and Blu-ray discs). I am not sure if you mean the problem that it keeps doing that (problem in the recorder. Or you get it repaired, or you get yourself a new one (cheap these days, I wouldn't recommend repairing). Or you're meaning the problem that the tape is now completely ruined. If it hasn't been damaged too hardly, you can get the tape fixed. Or you get someone to repair it, or you can even try it yourself. I'm sure there are things on the internet for that.

When i put a tape in it ejects it..then a tape with a slash appears on the screen

you are prohibited from recording on thips tape. This is because the red tab on the side of the tape that faces you when you are inserting the tape inside the camera has been put in 'SAVE' position . to be able to record o the tape you need to use your fingernail to slide the red tab to the 'REC' position.

Ive extracted the following article for you from wilkepedia to help you understand this issue:
Tape and recording protection
250px-8mm_cassette_erase_tab.jpg magnify-clip.pngThe write-protect switch (right) prevents accidental erasure. .
To prevent the recording on the tape from being erased, there is a small write-protect tab that can be moved to one of two positions, labeled "REC" and "SAVE". Comparing the sliding tab to a door, the tape is in the "REC" position is when the "door" is open and the "SAVE" position when it is closed. (Not all tape cases have markings for this information!) The tape can only be recorded on (or recorded over) when this tab is in the "REC" position. This is an improved version of the VHS write-protect tab, which prevents erasure after it has been (permanently) broken off.

We have an emerson vcr model ewv 401a. It is new only used twice in the past yera or so. Put in tape, tape was stuck we were able to remove the tape but the vcr keeps turning self off after about10 seconds...

there is an acrylic post inside that directs a light beam to several different places so when the light beam is broken then it tells other parts that the tape is loaded this could be broken off or if the tape broke off inside a piece could be wrapped around a capstan or drive post causing the machine to think it is at the end of the tape and to turn itself off.

If I remember correctly, press and hold the power button for ten seconds or a little more. If its not the power button try any button but I am pretty sure you will not be discouraged.
