Have you tried sending to locations with the same results?
For the drum, you might be at the end of life on the drum unit. Have one ready when it is time to replace it.
Make a copy on your fax machine and see if you are getting blank pages.
let us know how it works, You might be running the copies upside down. They should be face down.

Also, you may try to run a gray-scale image set up.

This will set up the xerographic set up in this fax machine.

It is located in the menu selection, under maintance.

    Good luck.

If I understand you right, what you send, people are receiving blank sheets?
When you try to run a copy are those blank also?
If so your problem is with the scanner. The drum should have nothing to do with sent faxes.
Unless your putting the paper in the scanner upside down. And if you ran it enough to need a drum I can't imagine that .

Intermittent printing problems

It sounds like the drum unit has a really dirty charge wire. Toner gets on it and hardens and will start arcing, causing blank copies. Try replacing the drum unit

Whenever i send a fax, the machine confirms by viewing 'TRANSMITTING OK' but the addressee receives a blank document

Check the baud rate of your transmissions. Slow them down to the slowest setting and send a test fax to a helpful person. Slowly increase the baud rate (communication data speed) and send the fax test. When the fax doesn't show up on the receive site, then step one baud rate speed back, and save the setting.

It could also be your fax that is faulty, or even the receive sites fax, also being faulty.

To test your copy-head, insert a document into your loading section of the fax and press copy. If the copy prints out fine, then you know the head is reading correctly.

It is also possible that the receiver fax (the other end) has a printhead failure.

My fax machine sends faxes, prints, and received faxes but the faxes are blank. We have been trying to figure out the problem and while fiddling with the machine have actually received a successful fax???...

Probably not. You can change that setting in the user modes in menu/function and set it to 99 minutes. HAve you tried another drum unit? Your charge corona wire in the drum unit maybe broken!

If we send afax than it is coming blank at another

make sure you are placing the document in the feeder correctly. some faxes you have to send it face down others you have to send it face up.

My brother fax machine - only receives black pages

do a quick check on 2 things.
- Copy a document(put a printed page on document feeder and press Copy button) , has the Copy come ok? if copy is also blank that means toner/ink problem, needs to be replaced.

- check with your Fax receive Print settings. is any setting of econo mode/ contrast/brightness Off the track? If found any of such issue then Reset it or put it on average (middle).

Hope this will put your Brother on the track

It has plenty of ink and the drum is good but it stopped printing

All blank pages could either mean: On the scanner side: * Mechanical error, you'll need to perform service on it to reanimate it again. * You can check if it is on the scanner side by printing a test page on the printer. If it prints fine, the problem is in the scanning process.
On the printer side: * Dirty connectors between toner/drum unit and machine. Remove the toner/drum package and clean the metallic cylinders on the left and right side of the toner/drum unit, then reinsert package into machine. * Bad toner and/or drum unit. Replace should solve it. * Mechanical error, you'll need to perform service on it to reanimate it again. * You can check if it is on the printer side by either scanning to a connected PC or sending a fax to someone. If the scanned/faxed page looks fine on the pc/fax that receives the fax, the problem is in the printing process.

call the number manually . and does it answer with a warble immediately or does the phone ring a lot and then answer.
your timeout may be set too short on the sending fax setup.

Can not receive faxes or blank pages com thru!

Can you make a copy and get a good print? Does the blank pages come from different people? If you still get a blank from making a copy, then try a different toner and or drum unit. Hopefully it is still under warranty.
