Here's the link to the Lexmark website for instructions on how to install the photoconductor and resetting its page count on a Lexmark X340n. http://bit.ly/c66dvv. If 84 Replace Photoconducter message is still on the display after performing the steps, refer to this link on how to reset the photoconductor page count. http://bit.ly/bm3XBm. If all else fails, I suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

Where is the photoconducter locate on e240n lexmark printer

The photoconductor unit is the unit that the toner cartridge sits in. It has a blue/green cylinder/drum.

Magenta toner smearing and there is also a line down the middle of the page

This is most likely due to a problem - like a crack - with the scraper on the drum cartridge that keeps the photoconducter clean. You should probably have that replaced, and replace the drum as well. FWIT, you should never touch the photoconductive surface of the drum - you can damage it, or leave fingerprints on it that will affect the print quality.

995 engine error everytime we try and print

it is in reference to the photoconducter cartridge.

1. shut off power to printer. Pull your photoconducter unit out and check the position of the black marker located on the edge of the tranferbelt. I know one time I was fortunate enough to fix this error by rotating the photoconducter belt so that the marker was in a different position. Becareful not to touch the photoconducter belt (green shiny part) if at all posible. Reinstall the unit and power up.

2. If the above trick doesn't fix it after turning the printer off for a few minutes and you still get the same error when printing... You will have to replace the photoconducter unit.

Usually there is more to this message particulary if this is a color printer. Basically the printer is telling you that tyhere is a problem in the Photoconducter area of the print cartridge. Epson Aculaser C900 photoconductor inserted incorrectly message after changing

Hey Marts Try this: Remove the PCU and the Transfer belt assy's Look inside the machine to the back, top left where you will see the cam as detailed in the picture below Open the right door and you will see a Green Wheel about half way down on the back side. Turn this wheel so the cam inside turns untill it is about 100 - 110 degrees further round (anti clockwise) than it is in the picture - basically make it go as far round anti clockwise as it will go Now try reinserting the TFB and PCU assy's in turn. You do not need to insert the 2 big silver screws that hold these units in place Close her up and see how you get on. If this has no effect, let me know and I will see what else you can do.
