If you don't use the remote control is it okay? If so, tear apart your remote control, use a Q-tip to clean all the lines in the circuit board where the rubber contacts touch. Then make sure that the rubber buttons don't have any 'gunk' on them that are making them stick. Clean the rubber pad with a qtip with dishsoap. Dry well, put back together and see if she works. Report back on your success. Good luck.

Sherwood RD 7505 - video button under the input area doesn't work when pressed. Can't change the input to have TV come through the speakers.

Hi,

Please power cycle your tv and check that it's connected as it used to be when the video-button was working for you. You can also power cycle your sherwood device before attempting your initial procedure/button press again. If it still does not work, please test that your speakers are able to function with other items in your location in order to eliminate the speakers as the potential cause of the issue.

Thank you.

Mum pressed some buttons on amp now the amp wont respond to the original remote or the universal remote. buttons wont work, batteries good and lights up. is there a button that blocks ir signal?

Looking at the user guide it appears that the amp has a standby mode.

See not below on turning standby on. Question can you see the standby light flashing.

I would also suggest using function on the amp to remove any possible issues with the remote.

One would expect the system to return to normal operation by pressing the power button again. If not what do you see on the display.

Note:
Press 1 to turn on the receiver. You can also turn on the receiver using 1 on the remote control. When you turn off the receiver, press 1 again. "STANDBY" flashes on the display panel. Do not disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead) while "STANDBY" is flashing. This may cause a malfunction.

Yamaha RX-V359 the remote sensor in in the unit is not working. I have tried the remote control on another machine and that works

If the remote is working, but not with your receiver, there is maybe ID mismatch. Both the remote and receiver can be set to either ID1 or ID2 - this is used when you have 2 receivers nearby, so that both of them don't react on commands from both remotes.

See the "Advanced setup" of your manual. On receiver you can check/change the ID code by powering the receiver on (press STANDBY/ON) while holding down the STRAIGHT button on front panel. Display will show "Advanced setup". Use "program < >" keys to navigate the menu until you got to "REMOTE ID-XYZ". Then press STRAIGHT to select ID1 or ID2. Now press STANDBY/ON to turn the receiver off. After turning it on again, it will use the new settings.

You can also try to reset the remote control codes to factory defaults. On remote, press CODE SET with a tip of a pen or pencil. TRANSMIT light on remote will blink twice. Now press SETUP on the remote and then "9981". TRANSMIT should now blink twice and remote control is set to factory default codes.

Yb125 battery wont charge

Instructions
    • 1 Check the main power cord if the receiver fails to turn on. If it is unplugged or loose, securely plug it in to an electrical outlet. If this fails, try plugging the receiver in to another outlet. If the receiver starts, the previous outlet is damaged. Call an electrician to repair it. If this fails, try turning the receiver on with the remote. If this does not turn the receiver on, try turning it on with the power button on the receiver itself. If this works, change the remote's batteries.
    • 2 Leave the receiver in "Standby" mode if it immediately goes into "Standby" when you turn it on. With the receiver still in "Standby," unplug the main power cord. Wait for around 30 seconds, then plug the receiver back in.
    • 3 Check the audio cables if you experience sound issues. If they are loose or disconnected, securely reconnect them. If you still do not have any audio, press the "Input" left or "Input" right buttons on the front panel to select the appropriate input source. You can also set the receiver to automatically detect input signals and select the appropriate input source. To do this, access "Audio Select" from the main menu and select the "Auto" option.
    • 4 Try factory resetting the receiver if you experience persistent audio or video issues. Press the "Standby/On" button on the receiver's front panel. Press and hold the "Tone Control" button, then press "Standby/On" again. Select the "Preset" option, then choose "Reset." Press "Standby/On."

Is the red light flashing at first?
The unit may be going into protect mode. Lets hope it has done the job and the receiver has protected itself from failure.
Protect mode can result from speaker wires touching each other or the Amps2_bing.gif metal case. Check that first.
It can also be caused by unstable ohm loads if too many speakers2_bing.gif are connected to any of the outputs especially zone 2.
If you can remove all speaker wires and turn the unit back on. If it stays on, turn the volume down on the main zone and zone 2 if connected. Then reconnect speaker wires.
