When ever i turn it on it stays on the starting screen and when i turn it off instead of going to the power of it just turn off

Seems like a firmware problem. Try upgrading your firmware or resetting your device if its possible.

This is a well know fault with the m240. The easiest fix is to take it back to the store you bought it from and get a replacement :)

It wont work

Go to sandisk.com and download the updater. It should do a rescue and fix the firmware. Download the file, install it -- without having the player on the system. MAKE SURE you put the player in MSC, if you can.
