The descale cycle on the Saeco Molito cannot be extended or programmed for a longer cycle. The frequency of descaling is based on the amount of usage and water hardness, and the machine is designed to prompt for descaling when it's necessary to maintain the machine's performance and longevity. It's important to follow the recommended descaling frequency to prevent damage to the machine and ensure optimal performance. If you're finding that the machine is prompting for descaling too frequently, you may want to consider using a water softener or changing the type of water you're using to reduce the build-up of minerals in the machine.

Error code 5 on saeco minuto coffee machine

Error code 5 means the water flow is obstructed. Here are possible locations:
1- The machine was not descaled. Calcium deposits are clogging the water system.

2- The flow meter is not passing impulses for water flow speed & quantity.

3- Descale Descale Descale.
Before you select the automatic descaling, make a few espresso without adding coffee grounds. The automatic cycle does not clean the coffee side of the machine. You have to do it intentionally.

Why after descaling my new Seaco Syntia coffee machine, it stops while brewing and it requires being primed over and over.

Syntia and Brera machines are made by Saeco. Brera is marketed under the brand name Gaggia (owned by Saeco).
The causes for this malfunction can be due to following in order as stated:
1- The machine was not descaled or it was descaled using products. that are labeled as descaler but they are not. After extended period of not descaling, one may have to use more than one cycle of descaling to remove accumulated depsits of Calcium in the water system.
2- The grind setting of coffee is too fine. Make it coarser by one notch toward coarser setting at a time.
3- The pump is losing its pumping pressure and not pudhing water through the coffee. Replace ULKA pump with an Invensys pump model CP3.
All fully automatic machines are convenient and make classic shots of espresso from bean to the cup at the push of a button. With this simplicity, owners forget its maintenance until machine stops working. Please pay attention to descaling every three months. No excuse is good enough.

Descaling Single Boiler Home espresso machines (HOME SINGLE BOILER ESPRESSO MACHINES)

Approximately every 3 months (depending on your use and the water hardness), clean the machine with natural citric acid based decalcifying agent.
1. Add a descaling solution into the water reservoir. Mix thoroughly to dissolve (use warm water for better results).
2. Remove the filter holder and place a cup under the group head and another cup, or other container, under the steam wand to catch cleaning solution.
3. Turn espresso machine on, turn coffee pump on and run approximately 8 oz. of solution through the brew head. Turn machine off and let the machine sit for 15 minutes.
4.Run approximately 8 oz. through the steam wand, and again, turn machine off and let sit for 15 minutes.
Repeat by allowing solution to run alternately through the steam wand and brew head. Turn espresso machine off after each cycle. Repeat process until solution has been run through.
5. Do not leave espresso machine on. Do not wait for the ready light to come on. Do not use the steam switch during this process. Do not allow reservoir to run empty!
6. Rinse reservoir thoroughly with fresh water. Refill reservoir with fresh water. Run half a tank of fresh water through group head, alternating between group head and steam wand.

Saeco Magic Comfort plus: Despite descaling the machine twice, the Descaling notice remains lit on my screen. Brews great coffee but what gives?

Hi
In the menu there is a program below the descaling program that says Reset descale. Enter this program and choose "yes", and make sure that you push the enter button to lock your answer. If you don't it will still be there.
Also go to your water hardness and move it to the #4. This will prevent you from having to replace the boiler sooner than needed. Descale when told to by the machine.

Slow and low heating/temp

When a machine takes a longer time to heat up, this is often due to scale on top of the heating element, try using a descaler product, and running a descale cycle a couple of time.

If it is not a scale problem, then it is usually a faulty thermostat or a faulty element.
When it is a faulty thermostat water gets hotter than normally.

Decalcify?

I had the same problem with a Saeco Royal Digital. I ran the decalcifying liquid through the machine with the automatic descaling program as per the instructions on the bottle and the DECALCIFY message stayed up.
I solved it by going to the menu and selecting "Signal Descal." and toggling it from No to Yes. I escaped back to the menu and git the usual "Select Product".
Hope this helps.
