Black Ink Faded

All of a sudden the left side of my printed pages look faded and is not readable. It is about a 1 1/2-inch wide space from the edge of paper. The rest of the page prints fine. I have not tried a different ink cartridge because of reading where some people are having the same problem even when they insert a new cartridge. Thanks for any suggestions.

SOURCE: Dell 942 all-in-one inkjet copies have faded edge

Hi,

The issue you have posted could be related to number of reasons, In order to fix this issue please try the steps given below.

1. Check if the paper size using is the one recommended or suitable with the printer.
2. Check if the document that you are placing on the scanner bed to copy is placed accordingly.
3. Check if there is a size or resolution which is set in printer preferences and it matches the paper size that you are using while scanning.
4. You can also try resetting the printer to factory defaults if you have started experiencing this issue recently, in order to reset the printer to factory defaults all you need to do is to power off the printer disconnect the power cord to the printer, then press the power button for about 10 to 15 seconds and the reconnect the power cord and power on the printer, once the printer is powered on press the power and the menu buttons at the same time and hold them for about 15 to 20 seconds the printer will turn off automatically.
5. You can also update the printer firmware for the Dell’s support site which is support.dell.com
Note while updating the printer firmware make sure that your printer and compute does not power off or restart.

Should you require any further assistance regarding the printer or even require assistance regarding any other computer related issue in future please feel free to contact me I will be more than glad to assist you.

Regards

Malik Khan

SOURCE: OkiC5200 has an inch wide faded print line down the left side

It might be a dirty led assembly. The leds hang down from the top when it is opened.

Savin 917 Copies are faded on the Left side of page.

Kenneth:
I would remove and cover the drum carriage (to protect the drum from damage by exposure to light), and check and clean the corona wires. There is a charge corona and a transfer corona, so that's two coronas that you'll have to clean. If you can remove the coronas from the machine, you can do a better job of cleaning the coronas. A faded line down the page like you're getting could be a paper shard stuck to one of the coronas... it's been known to happen.

Deskjet 1050A is not printing black. Help?

Hello,

The black ink cartridge is cloged or empty. Try to refill it in case of empty, or clean in case of cloged ( left the printhead for 1 hour in clean solution or in hot water if you don't have )

All the best !

Print quality: dark faded, but continuous

Open top cover and remove toner, shake toner cartridge and try a test print. IF image good then problem is low toner level in cartridge.

When i print there is a vetical faded space/line down the page. i have changed tone but it does not help. any suggestion?

Use a dry towel with the toner removed, and wipe the 1 inch wide window above where the drum goes. Toner and fingerprints on that glass will cause the problem you are seeing.

Faded-out streak

check your ink levels. if its the ink that came with the printer it is probable running out of ink. they do not give a full cartridge with printers, only about 3rd full. also try cleaning the heads. and try changing your printer settings/prefrences to less ink, more drytime see if that helps.

Faded stripe down the printed page

I found a solution that worked to eliminate the faded black stripe down the page thanks to a post by slamfix in another forum. The problem is related to ink build up on the blade edge of the black developer assembly in the imaging unit (the imaging unit contains 4 separate developers - yellow, blue, magenta, and black). The solution involves taking out the imaging unit, removing and cleaning the blade edge of the black ink developer until smooth. It took me about 15 minutes to complete and was fairly straightforward.

Print faded after replacing black cartridge Brother 240C

The print heads don't appreciate being out of ink so the Brother printer has sensors to prevent that but the tape defeated that prevention. Maybe more cleanings or maybe a cartridge with printhead cleaning solution will help. Otherwise, I fear a new printer.

Faded print on one side of page

I have a SCX-4100 Samsung, replaced the tonger cartridge, it was working fine for a few hundred sheets of printing, but after that, the left side of the page was printed very light, faded.
If I run the "Clean Drum", it will print a litter better, but still faded.
What can I do to correct this problem?
Thank you
