Patty,
Most dishwashers need an opening that is a minimum of 24" wide and 34" to 35" in height. Normally, you can adjust legs on the unit to adjust for the height you need, but you have no adjustment for the width. Hope this helps!
Hello Patty;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.
Be careful. Not all dishwashers fit in the same opening. They need to be shimmed and properly leveled.
When connecting the new dishwasher you have to turn off the water valve. This may be a cheep needle valve which after time the rubber seat dries and the valve leaks. You may have hard copper tubing on your water supply line. In this case the connecting feral may be distorted and the connector may need to be replaced.
If for some reason, you have a water leak and the dishwasher is not install by a licensed plumper, and you have water damage your home owners policy will not cover it.
Get a professional plumber. Play it safe.
