It sounds like your question should be either, "What Pioneer unit is compatible with my installation (Car make/model)?", or the question should be "which new Pioneer model would be comparable to the level of quality of my original unit?" Both questions have a similar answer.

Pioneer has a full range of quality levels for their products including the Pioneer "Premiere" line, on down to the basic models that have very few extra features. For either question the answer would be to match the Pioneer model with all the same exact features as the original unit, and that has similar performance specifications. This will provide the quality that you are accustomed to. If an earlier model of the same quality level classification fit in the particular car you are driving, then its predecessor model will probably have very similar physical dimensions and should fit nicely too.

Replaced factory radio with a pioneer unit. Radio reception very poor. Installed powered antenna adapter. No change. Any ideas?

Pioneer is a first line brand and should provide you the best signal. If you had good reception previusly and with a new Pioneed unit it's poor, your new Pioneer is defective!. Take it back and demand your warranty, so they should change it or repair it so it should sound perfect. DON'T TRY TO "repair" IT Might lose warranty!

Hummer radio wont work

If you have swapped out your old factory radio with another factory radio from a different unit, it will not work. It is coded to the VIN#, Just to replace a radio at the dealer you must link up and download the current configuration from the old unit using the GM TECH-II, then remove the old unit and install the new one, upload the old config files to the new unit and hope it works. Sometimes it doesn't and you have to keep swapping units back and forth to download and upload and eventually maybe getting a successful upload. If all your doing is replacing the factory unit with another factory unit, it will work if you take it to a dealer and they do the process explained above. Just don't throw out your old radio, they will need it because all of your old config files are still in it!
I hope this info helps!~subyguru~

Pioneer p 4300 in 1994 ford E250 not working. I didn't know I was supposed to disconnect the battery when hooking up the pioneer harness. I was planning on splicing in the pioneer harness so while I...

Have you tested the hot lead going from the car's harness to the radio with a multimeter, to see if you're getting voltage? You may have either popped the fuse in the fuse box, or may have shorted either the car harness or the head unit harness.

Touareg 3.2 v6 2004

I replaced my radio/cd in my 2004 touareg with the pioneer Premier AVIC-F90BT. This unit is a double din and fits the opening almost perfect. This unit does everything you can imagine. It took about 10 hours to install, I went very slow and installed all of the features. I got it online for about $640.00 This thing is amazing all steering controls work, it monitors the gages, speed, everthing. This unit will connect with your blue tooth phone. I purchased the HD radio component, and the Ipod connection. Follow the directions and take your time, DO NOT Get rushed. I also purchased a set of 4 keys for the removal of the old radio, they were @ $4.00 for the set.

Taking Pioneerdeh-16 cd player out of car

Like many stereos, this needed a set of slide in "extractors" to unlock the radio from the radio chassis. They are just short pieces of steel designed too push the metal slots back that lock the radio in. I just stuck a thin screwdriver back down the sides and bent the metal away from the radio so it would slide out.

Air ware xm2go

The unit has an internal antenna (that is really poor) that is activated when you unplug the external antenna. This is why you get some signal when you unplug the unit.

I assume the problem is the antenna itself.

My suggesion is that you charge up the unit, take it to a place that sells XM equipment AND has a demo unit working. Be sure to take your docking station with you (it has the plug in for an external antenna). Ask the sales rep to please connect your unit to an external antenna to test your unit as you are trying to determine if your antenna is bad. If it works, you need a new antenna (cable may be cut on the inside or antenna may have water/weather damage). If it does not, then there is an electrical issue inside the unit and the unit itelf will need replacement/repair.
