pull out the black cartridge then get a tissue paper try pressing the nozzle again the tissue paper but not so hard then release look for the straight line that appear on the tissue paper if it is not change it
try doing head alignment, this feature is located under the printer properties... goto Start, then Setting, then Printer and faxes, and point to the printer model, right click and select Properties... then select Maintenance and from there, you can clean head and head alignment... print the alignment sheet and select the best straight line.. that should help.
if that line is horizontal and repeat itself on the page then the problem should be from the Drum of Toner.(should be fixed if you replace Toner)
if it is vertical line all over the page then it ia allmost the fuser film (torn vertically) and if so you should send the printer to a specialized technician
Nozzle check must perfect for perfect output. There are tranversal lines at vertical straight lines that represent same point of head micro piezo. If tranversal lines no clog at all, but vertical straight lines not perfectly straight, the result not good (like horizontal white banding). Check it? Head aligment is for vertical banding. If your result is horizontal banding, you don't need to realign head. It's caused by some residual at the output of head sprayer. So, the spray of ink not straight to paper. Try to print with photo/best photo.
With I could post a solutions but I have the same problem! Cyan has horizontal gaps, rest of the colors seem to be ok. I've realigned and cleaned the heads many times.
I assume that you've cleaned the nozzles and alignment utility.
Try wiping the carriage bar with a lint free cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. Also, the paper feed rollers may have collected some "goo" and should be cleaned with the rubbing alcohol. This should clear the problem.
Moski, When trying to align the printer you get a sheet of numbered lines. You want to choose the center most selection that your eyes see as straight lines. Whether they are horizontal or vertical it wants you to tell it which lines look the straightest. From there it will set itself up for proper printing.
