The HP SCANNER SPECS say: Scan file format Bitmap (.bmp), JPEG (.jpg), PNG (.png), TIFF (.tif), PDF (.pdf), Searchable PDF (.pdf), Text (.txt), Rich Text (.rtf).

That means it is supported. What you can try is to try and uninstall ("Programs and Features in Windows) the Adobe PDF program and get the free one to install again from: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader.html

If it still doesn't work (links itself into Windows and the HP software), try reinstalling the HP software or go to HP.COM and you can download the latest full-version file for your 4625 printer.

SOURCE: cant save a scanned document as a pdf

You have to make sure your telling your scanner what your scanning. Most often it defaults as a mixed image meaning text and image. You have to tell it to scan text only and then see what options you have. If this doesnt help then do as i stated above choosing text only and save to computer as a microsoft word document. Now make sure you have latest Acrobat reader 9.0 installed and now with your word document open in top left File button there should be an option to convert to pdf format. I hope this helps and good luck

SOURCE: I need to scan documents

You can scan multi-page documents to PDF or TIFF formats using the department copier/printer/scanners; single-page documents can also be scanned to JPEG-format images. The copier/scanner will e-mail the resulting scan to you.

Press Scanner (left-side of copier control pad)
Enter your copier/scanner access code; press # when done.
Press Attach Sender's Name (upper-right of touch-pad) to select a From address for your document scan.
You must choose a from-address to be able to scan.
Use the alphabetic sort letters to find your username. Usernames are programmed to match login names.
Press OK when done.
Select the To: field to select who to send the document scan to.
Use the alphabetic sort letters to find your username for users programmed on the system; select Manually Input if the user is not listed. Usernames are programmed to match login names.
Press OK when done.
You can choose cc: and bcc: fields the same way, if you like. These are not required.
Verify Scan Type (middle-right of touch-pad). The default is PDF, but TIFF and/or JPEG are also available. Press OK to exit this submenu.
Newer copiers can generate full-color scans (Ricoh MP8001, MP4001, MP5001 models); you can select color scan modes under Scan Type.
Check whether you have 1-sided or 2-sided originals (lower-left side of touch-pad). Change using the Original Settings submenu. Be sure to press OK when you are finished.
We recommend you select Attach Subject to put a subject line on your scan message. Otherwise, you might not remember what each individual document is.
Select Manual Input
Enter your subject line, then press OK
Multi-page documents can be loaded into the document feeder, face-up. Single-page documents can be loaded through the document feeder or on the glass scanning surface under the document feeder.
If you want to change the scan resolution (300dpi by default), go into Scan Settings (far left side of touch-pad) to change it. Again, press Ok to get out of this submenu.
At this time, the green Start button should be illuminated green. Press the button to start your scan.
If you have more documents to scan, repeat as needed.
You will be automaticly logged out after 60 seconds of inactivity.

HP DJ F2235 doesn't have PDF option to scan PDF

Scan to PDF requires third-party software and linking that software to the HP Solution Center. The HP imaging software only saves to BMP, DCX, FPX, GIF, JPG, PCD, PCX, and TIF. You need a program like PaperPort or save the document as an image and then convert it to a PDF (using Microsoft Office, another Office Suite, or a dedicated image to PDF conversion program.)

I wish that I had better news for you. PaperPort can be found for $50 from some vendors after rebate.

Everyone above has cut and pasted from the Ricoh manual, which as any tech will tell you is worthless. There is some other setting that must be set to force the "TIFF/JPG" to toggle - hence why no one has figured it out.

My hp laser jet 3052 cannot scan documents in pdf.It is only giving options to save either in jpeg, tif, bmg format. There is no pdf format.

You may need to purchase a scanner to get a PDF like Acrobat Reader. But if you managed to save to PDF before, try to reinstall the software and add software and choose OCR. Most of the HP PDF capablility is together with its OCR software.

Hi,I have got a Canon, smartbase MPC 400 printer/scanner. My question is: How can I scan a document straight to a PDF file, because it only gives me options for TIF,BMP and JPEG. I have downloaded a TIF to...

I'm using an MP780. Usually when I scan an image to jpeg I press START, CANON, SCANGEAR STARTER. This open a window to ScanGear MP. Since I use the Advance Tab I can set the DPI and whatever outputs. The DPI rsolution will determine the size of the file also. When it is finished scanning it goes to the next window which has Save As Type and Save Scanned Image to. Save As Type is where you can choose JPG or TIFF or BMP. Hope this helps.
