mine will feed about 1/4 inch, or 5 mm, and then will stop feeding paper. the printer head will happily continue printing away spraying printer ink into the foam pad in the bottom of the printer.
the IP90 does not have a waste tank, so that is not the issue. I cannot locate any dirt or paper in the feed.mine will feed about 1/4 inch, or 5 mm, and then will stop feeding paper. the printer head will happily continue printing away spraying printer ink into the foam pad in the bottom of the printer.

I've tried the cancel/feed blink 3 times clean process MANY times, I've carefully taken the top half of the cover off the printer, nothing out of the ordinary. No paper or paper fragments.
Where is this "sensor" located so I can give it an alcohol swab.
I've also heard that there is an internal "bar" that could be bent. (To be honest, this computer has gone through airports nationwide, I don't doubt that this problem began with improper bag handling)
Where can i find a manual or directions on taking apart my printer and doing diagnostic tests on it.
I seriously wouldnt be taking this "printer battle" to such extent, but these are commercial printers. I have 5/13 that have this problem. It's beginning to occur to me how cheap these printers are. I don't want to just throw them away yet.

Same problem here. Bought the Canon Pixima ip90 on ebay after experiencing same unfixable problem with another one I owned. Final verdict...a previous paper jam resulted in cracking the plastic gear that's driven by the main metal gear. Not worth fixing.Same problem here. Exactly as blan5640 said here there may be piece of paper or dust on the sensor try ro clean the sensor and reply whether you have pulled the jammed paper towards up/down of the feeder if you pulled it upward then the sensor would have broken
Check the paper feed section of the printer. it may be item stuck in the paper path. causing the paper jam senor to stay on. also it know for these printer to have a waste in full. this will stop all workings of the printer. as these printer only have small waste ink pad in them. Need to know if the printer is flashing just green or if it flashing green led then a orange one.
if u had a paper feed error it would blink green. looks like u have a service error on the printer.if u had a paper feed error it would blink green. looks like u have a service error on the printer.

Unplug the machine. Remove paper trays. Open all the doors, slide the carrier and remove the cartridges' and print head. Use a flashlight and look for a small piece of torn paper. Clean the rubber feed roller with a soapy cloth. Replace the paper with new from an unopened pack as what you have may be damp. Put it all back together and try again.
Hello and Welcome to FixYa! Paper jam means their may be small bit paper jam in side, actually there are some "micro sensors" that detect a paper
jam. There will be tiny piece of paper inside those
sensors, thus tripping the sensor and paper jammed keeps coming up. To solve this first of all Open printer cover and check to make sure no paper or foreign objects obstructing the printer feeder, If you become sure that now really there is no paper, dust or foreign objects thenTurn the printer off, and disconnect the AC power-cable. Open the printer cover & now give the printer a "blow-job" by compressed air. If still problem exist then best & final option is to just contact to any Canon Printers service provider. I hope this solution helps you Thank you for using FixYa!
Probably no paper jam, but put a ruler across the top across where the switches are, if it's bowed down some the frame has been bent. Any weight, luggage, etc placed on top can bend the frame and that restricts the paper path and you need a shop repair.
one of your feed gears has poped out of placeor one of the teeth is broken, check the paper path with a flashlight you will probably see one loose.
Good luck

your receiving a jam because the printers are based on timing so if that paper doesnt follow its path it will cause an error what you might need to replace the pick up rollers
Dear all, I will try to help you. Paper jam error may be caused by some possibilities. So, please notice this indication:
If the printer status is READY immediately after Power ON then Paper Jam Error message appears while feeding the paper: Sheet Feeder Unit is faulty or any other material (such as broken paper) present inside paper path blocking paper end to reach paper feed sensor.
If Paper Jam Error messages appears immediately after Power ON: Paper feed sensor or logic board is faulty
Corrective action:
Remove the material from paper path
Replace Sheet Feeder Unit
Replace Paper Feed Sensor / Logic Board
