Screen Solid Balck

My screen is solid black as if the contrast is all the way up. I tried to lower it but it still doesn't work. If i gently press on the screen i can see the numbers i press in the background very faintly. I haven't used this calculator for about 4 yrs and there were no AAA batteries inside when i first tried it out. It hasn't been dropped or water damaged either. I put new batteries in it including the small circle battery under the screwed down cover and still no screen. What do you recommend i do?

Hey, my girlfriend tried this on a ti-84+, jab the contrast buttons repeatedly until the display goes back to normal. Might work for you too.

I had the same problem however, when I took out my back up battery it said "re-intalling" when I turned it back on and the screen was fixed. Im sure for a marginal price you might be able to send in your cal. to TI to get the screen replaced if its a problem with the LCD.

How do I fix dead ( not stuck) Pixels on my acer laptop? It appears like a smll hole in screen

You can't fix dead pixels, the transistor is faulty. This is indicated by black spots.

Stuck pixels remain a solid color other than white. This cane sometimes be fixed using software that flashes solid colors on the screen. Hot pixels remain solid white. this can be fixed in the same manner.

My acer travelmate 8100 turns on but screen is blank

A blacked-out screen doesn't necessarily indicate a broken monitor. If the computer has run out of charge or is in hibernation or sleep mode,

if the screen is too dark, or if the display cable has come disconnected from the motherboard, the screen may appear black or fail to turn on.

To fix a blacked-out laptop screen, troubleshoot the screen settings, check the LCD connector and see if the computer is awake and receiving power.

Touch the touchpad or move the external mouse to see if the computer is asleep or hibernating. If the computer fails to respond, press "Enter" on the keyboard.

Press the power button if the screen remains black. Confirm that the power indicator light, found at the front of the computer or above the keyboard, is glowing solid green or blue.

Confirm that the power adapter is plugged into the computer and into a wall outlet. Confirm that battery indicator light is glowing solid green or blue.

Hold down the "Fn" key. Press the up-arrow to see if the screen brightness increases. Some computers also use the "F6" or "F7" keys to increase screen brightness.

Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off the laptop. Remove the AC adapter from the computer, close the screen, and then turn the PC over.

Slide the battery latch to eject the battery. Pull the battery out of its compartment. Turn the computer back over, open the lid, and insert the edge of a flathead screwdriver or other flat, solid object beneath the bezel above the keyboard.

Wedge the edge of the keyboard bezel off of the top cover. Work your way along the edge of the keyboard bezel to loosen it. Pull the bezel off the laptop.
Trace the cable coming from the laptop screen to the connector found beneath the bezel. Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard if the cable has come loose from the connector.
Line up the tabs on the bezel with the slots along the top of the keyboard. Insert the right edge of the bezel into the gap above the keyboard, and then push the bezel back in place.
Turn the computer back on. If the laptop screen is still blacked out, connect an external monitor to the video port on the side of the PC to confirm that the video card isn't defective. If the external monitor works, the LCD screen could be broken. If the monitor doesn't work, the motherboard or video card might need to be replaced.

hope this helps

The bottom of my screen is black and blue starting solid on bottom and sides for about an inch give or take then gradually becomes spotted balck with blue background and has a pink line running vertically...

I suggest either trying another monitor on the computer with this problem or plugging the monitor into another computer.

That will isolate the fault to either the computer or the monitor.

Black Screen

Not for sure but if it has a reset button on the back you probably need to press and hold it for about 10 seconds and see what happens.

Power on - blank (black) screen

Disconnect the monitor signal cable from PC and switch on your monitor. It should show some logo with Red, Green and Blue colors with a message similar to "No signal". If so, your monitor is working fine. Sometimes if the brightness and contrast is set to zero using controls present in the monitor, it will not show up anything. check wheather somebody set your monitor brightness and contrast to zero. If so incease them. As a last try connect to different PC and check before approaching a service center. I hope this will help you out. :)
