Solid black rectangular area at the center of the screen
There is a solid rectangular black area at the center of the screen blocking more than 90% of the screen. It happened when TV was in a video mode to get input from DVD player and I pressed 'TV/Video' button on the TV remote and my daughter simultaneously pressed 'Prev' button on DVD player remote.
Your help to remove this black area will be highly appreciated.

Solid black in a copy typically means that the scanner is partially blocked. Open the top, where you'd place a sheet to be copied, and examine the small strip that runs down the side (left, most likely). See if it's clear, or if something is covering part of it.
Most copiers don't use the full size scanning plate for copies, but use a strip that scans the paper as it moves across it. If something blocks part of it, you get the black area.
There isn't a single formula for solids of different shapes. For a right solid with a rectangular base - volume is base area x heightSimilarly for cylinder with a circular base - volume = base area x height (base area in this case is Pi x radius2).For a sphere - volume = 4/3 x Pi x radius3
Rectangular Prism/Cuboid Definition: A Rectangular Prism/Cuboid is a solid figure bounded by six rectangular faces, a rectangular box. All angles are right angles, and opposite faces of a cuboid are equal. It is also a right rectangular prism.
Rectangular Prism/Cuboid Formula: Area of Base(A) = l * w Perimeter of Base(P) = 2l + 2w Surface Area of Prism = 2(lw) + (2l + 2w)h = 2A + Ph Volume of Prism = lwh = Ah Diagonal of Prism = Sqrt(l² + w² + h²) where l = length, w = width, h = height Hope this helps, if so do rate the solution
Hi, Do you see same solid black box in all inputs or just in dvd picture? If solid box appears only with dvd picture then its generated by dvd player, check dvd player Menu and turn off any subtitle settings. And if solid black rectangular appears in all inputs of TV like cable etc then check Close Caption feature in TV and turn off CC function. Hope this will solve your TV problem. Thanks.
Sounds like you have a broken screen.
Is there a crack along the edge of the black area?
If you apply a little finger pressure in the black area does it change color? If it doesn't change color then you you have a cracked screen.
Therefore you need a replacement screen.
