I dont have the cd for the printer and I dont know where to start to correctly install it for LAN printing. It worked before but I changed routers when I moved.

I dont have the cd for the printer. It works when connected with the USB. It works wirelessly through my cellphone app. But I cant seem to get it to work wirelessly with my computer. I uninstalled the drivers as directed and downloaded them all again. But everything I see on how to correctly install the printer for LAN printing has you go through the autorun cd install. Any idea where to start? I have a Windows 7 OS.

SOURCE: Wireless printing does not work

For an effective wireless connection, the printer should be connected to one of the LAN ports of a configured wireless router. This way, every pc(mostly laptops with wireless capability) can print to the printer. You will need a wireless adapter for desktop pcs to access any resource made available wirelessly ok. Good luck

SOURCE: My Computer will not recognise the USB unit

You can only connect the usb cable when prompted by the software during the installation. Otherwise install will fail. Please see this guide.
If that was not your problem, it's possible some third party firewall or internet security suite or some other service is interfering with the installation. Go to the Canon site here and search "installation" and you'll see "stops at 42%" Read that article, and temporarily disable the non-microsoft service might be causing the problem. (Or see any other error messages that apply to your situation.)
Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

How to connect hp pavilion to brother mfc9560cdw without router

This model Bother printer has a 10baseT LAN connection and can be connected to your LAN network and to your HP laptop via the wireless router. Connect a LAN cable from the printer to the wireless router.
To print from your HP laptop, check the IP address range your wireless router issues to your wireless network, it maybe 192.168.1.*** then configure the brother printer with a fixed IP address with the same IP address range but higher address eg. 192.168.1.10 so it does not clash with any other IP addresses.
Next install the Brother printer driver normally.
Then configure the Brother printer Properties.
Click Start - Printers and faxes - right click on the Brother printer - click Properties - Port tab - click Add Port - Standard TCP/IP port -
Port Name eg. 192.168.1.10
Printer name eg Brother
Click OK
Then do a TEST print if it does not work then the IP address is probably incorrect.

How to connect my printer to a router

This model Canon printer has onlt an USB connection to a computer.
The only way to connect this printer to a router is to install a printer server with an USB connector, connect the printer to the print server and then connect the print server to the router using a LAN cable.
The printer driver needs to be installed on all the computers on your network and then to the printer properties then Port tab and add a TCP/IP port then configure this port with the print server's IP address.
Do a test print and if the test print is OK then printer is installed correctly.

How do I change the ip address of the Dell 1720 dn printer to work with my network?

Ok the following instructions will help you reset the ip address of your printer however you must use the origina driver cd to do this. Follow the instructions below if you have no print server involved with this network. If you do use a print server let me know ok?

Print and Check the Network Setup Page
  1. When the Ready/Data light is on solid, press and release Continue to print a menu settings page and a network setup page.

  2. Under the Standard Network Card heading on the network setup page, make sure Status is Connected.

If Status is Not Connected:
    • Make sure the Ethernet cable is firmly plugged into the back of the printer.

    • Plug the Ethernet cable into another wall outlet.

  1. Under the "TCP/IP" heading on the network setup page, make sure the IP address, netmask, and gateway are what you expected.

  2. Ping the printer and verify that it responds. For example, at a command prompt on a network computer, type ping followed by the new printer IP address (for example, 192.168.0.11):

ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
If the printer is active on the network, you will receive a reply.
  1. If your printer doesn't respond, or if the IP address is not what you expected:

    1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into your computer.

    1. The Drivers and Utilities CD should launch the installation software automatically.

If the CD does not automatically launch, click Start® Run, type D:setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of your CD), and then click OK.
    1. When the Drivers and Utilities CD screen appears, click Set IP Address Utility.

    2. Select your printer from the "Configure Print Servers" list, and then click TCP/IP Settings.

    3. Make the necessary changes, and then click OK.

    4. Click Close.

    5. Print and check the network setup page to verify your changes.

Install Printer Drivers for All Clients
  1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into your computer.

  2. The Drivers and Utilities CD should launch the installation software automatically.

If the CD does not automatically launch, click Start®Run, type D:setup.exe (where D is the drive letter of your CD), and then click OK.
  1. When the Drivers and Utilities CD screen appears, click Network Installation - Install the printer for use on a network.

  2. Select Install printer on one or more remote computers, and then click Next.

  3. Enter your Administrator user name and password, and then click Add.

  4. Select the clients or servers, and then click Next.

  5. Select the network printer you would like to install, and then click Next. If you do not see your printer listed, click Update to refresh the list or click Add Printer to add a printer to the network.

  6. Select your printer from the list. If you would like to change the printer name listed, enter a new name in the Printer Name field.

  7. If you want other users on the network to access this printer, select Share this printer with other computers, and then enter a share name that users will easily identify.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Select the software and documentation you want to install, and then click Install.

  10. When the Congratulations! screen appears, print a test page to verify the software is installed correctly.

  11. Click Finish to exit.

I recently installed my printer onto my computer by the cd given but then it got lost and i dont know where it is, but just a week ago i got a laptop and im trying to install my printer onto my laptop...

If you are using a router or modem on the network then the IP Address of the printer can be found out through the router/modem attached device list. Also, try taking a manual print out from the printer and check if it shows information of the IP address on it.

Does not find a print server

Don't know for sure what the problem is, but I would try hooking the printer to the computer with a USB cable and then see if the print server "sees" it. Usually then you can unhook it, put the lan cable back on, and the print server will find it. Or, sometimes I have clicked on the printer properties, then searched till I found the IP address. Then manually put the IP address in where it asks for it under "add network printer". By the way, my print server hooked up to the router, and to make it work the first time I had to plug my printer into it. Then I was able to unplug it, and use it normally.

Cannot get printer hp psc2355 to work with br6215srg router can you please advise

This router has a built in print server. What type of cable setup are you using; USB, LAN, Firewire ?? All of these methods should work.

For me, I have usb printer and wireless router connected to my desktop in the office, and I use a wireless LAN laptop around the house and I can print from my wireless laptop.

Tell me what setup you want to use so we can narrow this down.
I'm assuming this is a NEW setup your trying to get started.

NETWORK INSTALLATION PROBLEM

Hello ZIMKHAN

Please, correct me if I am wrong. Do you mean that you believe there is an IP conflict or IP assignment issue w/ your PP9100 N?

If the IP address of the printer keeps changing then it is most likely not remaining powered on all the time AND it is configured for "dynamic" IP assignment by your router (as opposed to a "static" (unchanging) IP address).

This can be remedied by assigning a static IP address to your printer (or the print server device it is connected to). This is usually done at the control panel of your printer or through the print server device software.

If you are not in a Domain or "larger network", the IP address of the printer or print server device should be w/in the same subnet as the rest of the nodes on your LAN.

I have a few questions for you:

(01) Is your printer connected to a "print server" or are you using its on-board Ethernet port?

This printer model is "network ready". That is what the "N" stands for in the printer model number. I would like to make sure that you are using the printer's Ethernet connection and not a print server device.

(02) Is the "Crown Port+" you referred to your router?

(03) Please, provide the manufacturer and model number of your router.

(04) Please, provide the manufacturer and model number of the "Crown Port+" device you referred to (if it is different than your router).

(05) If you are not using the printer's Ethernet port but are using a print server device instead, please, provide us w/ the manufacturer and model number of that device.

Please, click on THIS link. You will find the documentation that is available for this printer on this web site.

Please, download the Installation Guide (document name: 9100g_e.pdf) and refer to page 52 for instructions on setting up your printer for networking in a "Windows" environment.

This, of course, is assuming that yours is a "Windows" networking environment. If it is not, please, let us know what operating systems are installed on the computers w/in your LAN.

* Please, post back w/ your answers and
* any other info. you can provide (the
* more details you can provide the better)
* and we will be happy to work with you
* to resolve your problem.
