Have a JVC 52 , only a few months old. ... That looks like my CRT RPTV if I mess with the convergence. ..... I hope your repair isn't that drastic, but you won't know until after the service tech gets there. .... Started out with a double image, then mirror image, then finally the blue and red went out totally leaving ...

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

The problem you are refering to is more than likely a convergence problem. The convergence circuit in your tv is controlled by an IC (integrated circuit) stk392-110 and it makes the 3 colors (red, blue, green) line up/converge together to create a clear picture. You'll know when this part needs to be replaced because the picture you see is 3d looking and possibly bowed on the top or bottom or on the sides in any or all 3 colors.

this is typic old projection tv, some tecnical ajust parameters have reset, so if you can adjust,this settings on service menu on tv, or ask for help on local repair store, to calibrate scren.

Look for the convergence menu in the manual and try to align it.

replace the convergence ic's or look for loose connections that should do the job
