These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

You will need to replace the convergence iCs there are two of them they are both STK392-110 Ics you will also need the JVC convergence resistor kit. You can get the ICs and resistor kit at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures. Heres the link.

does your TV has the stat adjustments in the CRT or near the chroma IC it is a trimmer resistor or a rheostat try to adjust it...

Your convergence amps are bad. Replacement is necessary and I would recommend contacting a servicer in your area. You can find an authorized JVC serivcer at this link http://maps.jvc.com/cAscList/

Converge chips are bad

sounds like your crt tubes...meaning Red, Green and Blue are out of alignment...or possibly 1 of the crt's is burned out.
