Question about Toshiba 50H82 50" Rear Projection Television
Have a panasonic pt-53tw53g just replaced the 392-110 with 392-180 picture is alot better, but on the left side of screen about 8" or so it still seems to be out of convergence or out of focus, still see double lines of red, blue, green, but it is barely noticteable to an untrained eye, but i can see it. I did the convergence in the users menu looks better, but do I need to go into the service menu and do a convergence there to maybe fix what is wrong twith the left side or is there possibly something else wrong. I checked all the resistors that was around the two ic's and the measured good. Also if I need to go into service menu to do that convergence, can someone help me out with a manual please. Thanks in advance.
These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.
