Check for any air path obstructions and see if the fan is working, if not it needs replaced or checkd out. You can try and put a fan behind the unit to keep it cool this will sometimes work but the main reason is the set is getting to hot and it shuts itself down to protect itself from a failure.
Check and make sure your fans are working and there is sufficiant cooling to the back of the set. Sounds like it is overheating and going into protection mode.
It may be overheating. Check the temperature with your hand by placing it over the fans/slots to feel for any excessive heat. If it won't turn back on until it cools, then it's a heat issue. You could help that out by using fans to circulate the air around the unit, trying to keep it cool by moving the hot air released from it and pulling in cooler air. Other than that, there may be a short somewhere, or maybe even a broken fan.
Sounds like a heat problem. Check to make sure that if it has a internal fan that it is working, and clean any dust build up, most projection tv's have fans, usually the number of flashes indicate a code that repeats.
i believe that this set is built with fans to cool down the inside, check if the fans are running slow, because that could be your problem since you get both sound and picture. i think that's what it is.
the reason for it not displaying HD channels would be the Tuner itself, The humming from the back would be a fan that is dirty from dust or its is given out.
solution for the humming clean out the fan! check fan to amke sure its doing the right RPM rotations per min. For the tuner this would need to be looked at and tested by a Tv repair person.
