5 BLINKS
My first guess is IC 702 in the crt drive circuit. You could open the back and unplug the "C" board from the back of the crt and then power it on. If the set comes up and you have good audio that will isolate the problem.
If IC 702 is the problem you'll have a couple of other things to check, R533 .47ohm 1/4 watt fusible resistor and C541 22uf 100v both on the "A" board because they tend to stress when IC 702 begins to leak. Replacing IC 702 and not the resistor and cap could cause 702 to fail again.
If IC 702 is not the problem then it could be the flyback.
Hope this helps!

Sony 60in Grand wega keeps
Hi,
The dish network tech isn't the cause of the problem, it just a coincidence.
You TV is having a power problem and this could either be from your TV's line transformer or the TV power board.
To access the line transformer of the TV, open the TV, at the back of the TV tube, you will see a rubber pipe passing from the tube to the TV board, that's the line transformer.
In the case of power board, The power supply board might be defective that's why the TV power on and off, a capacitor, diode, etc on the power board may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the TV might keep behaving this way.
If you know about TV repairers, I would suggest that you open the TV and read the power board/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it. Take note that TV stores a lot of current that can shock, so leave the TV for a while before you open it.
If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you.
Good luck.

Hi,
Does picture disappear once in a day or happens many times while watching tv?
Let me know to diagnose problem.
Thanks.
Why does my Sony 57
Sounds like a heat problem. Check to make sure that if it has a internal fan that it is working, and clean any dust build up, most projection tv's have fans, usually the number of flashes indicate a code that repeats.

TV Turns self off- 4 blinks on standby light
Yes, the blinks are error codes. I would not bother trying to figure out what they mean, I can tell you right now. Expensive repair. Average repair costs are 1/4 to 1/2 of the TV's current worth. Most likely a bad transistor. The average expected life span of a TV set is 3-5 years. After that, stuff starts wearing out fast. Time to move on.
Sony Kv 2780R trinitron 26" tv
Hi Mike,
my suggestion for you is to use a rubber inner tube, cut in half.
also the use of glue i would,nt recommend, but something more flexible such as silicone sealent.
