Our tv recently displayed projection lamp was about to go out and needed changed, so i purchased a new lamp assembly and replaced it. tv worked good as new for a few days, then in the middle of watching tv...

Most often, I find when servicing these televisions, the lamp has failed but it was due to poor fan circulation. This television has at least 3 if not 4 fans. If you take off the back and find these fans are filled with impacted dust, the fan may be causing the failure. Also check to be certain your door safety switch is making good contact. These tips should ber of assistance but check your fans. A clean inside of a tv is a happy tv!

I had my 42 inch orion plasma for about 1 year when i unplugged a camcorder from the s-video while still playing and about 10 horizontal lines appeared accross the top of the screen.now about another year...

Unplugging camcorder haven't damage your set. Looks like you have an issue with you main/signal board. while you pull the plug, you may stress the connections on the board, what about to be happen, anyway. To diagnose and fix plazma you must be an expert, definitely not a beginner. If you want to take a chance of braking the display, you may try to poke it open, face down on soft surface(about 50 screws) and tap on the board with all of plug connections, wile tv is working, but need someone to help you, by holding tv on it's bottom(if there are no speakers) or top.look at the screen and see, if tapping makes a difference. If it is, you've got lucky! If not, surrender to experts.
good luck,

42 inch lg tv powers on,goes off after about 30 seconds

I have the same problem, I just spoke with LG Customer service. They had me unplug the power cord, hold down the power button for thirty seconds, plug back in and turn it on, this DID NOT work for me, but maybe it will work for you.

Good Luck! Mine is going to a service shop, maybe what they tell me I can post and it will help you if you have not gotten your tv fixed yet!

Optoma RD50 TV which shuts down on #1 fan failure

This could be a variant of, or a newer (or older) version of the "DMD fan failure" message.

Symptoms I had are, I stop hearing a fan when the message is displayed.
Then the temp LED keeps flashing RED until I either try to turn the TV on again,
Or turn MAIN power off/on again. BUT it repeats when I try to turn the TV on.
The picture appears normal until this happens ( about 15 sec.)

The solution is to FORCE a normal shutdown by hitting the TV off button
before the message appears.
You should see the power LED flashing RED/GREEN (cool down) and then RED (standby).

Standby LED flashes red 4 times with pause then 4 times

You either have a bad fan or one of the rotation sensors mounted on one of the fans has failed. Take the back off the set and see it the main fan slightly right of center is rotating. If it is, there are two more fans, one mounted right above the lamp and another on the optical block itself. You will have to pull the optical block to check those.

Plazma TV

There are several shutdown circuits on this unit. The X main or Y main are the usual suspects. Call 1-800-Samsung for a qualified servicer in your area.
