Modem driver i got this ntbook factory preloaded with win vista home premium, but i decided format it and reinstall WINXP, i got all drivers and working fine but i cant find the modem driver. The only info about the built in mdm is " ITU 56K V.92" but i have no idea of the brand...will app prompt reply nXP

Vista continues to have problems with drivers for older equipment and software. Contact the makers of the hardware to see if they have updated Vista drivers, otherwise you may have to revert to 32 bit, (I'm assuming you have 64 bit Vista) or maybe go back to WinXP.

hello, u may have to download the proper drivers plus data manager software from the manufacturers homepage,
they have to fit vista!

if there are just ones for winxp or lower win/versions available, either try connecting phone to a winxp/interent-pc and go through driver-install and so on
or think about downgrading your system to win-xp professional!

win vista is fine but not as reliable as winxp/pro!

First Uninstall the drivers of this modem and chk if any hardware is creating a conflict with it. Next uninstall that hardware or change its slot.

Now reinstall your modem with the latest set of drivers

this modem is not support the vista you have to go for the win xp or win 2000 i just give the link to download the driver for win xp or win 2000

it looks like your having a problem with sound and not in modem, you can download driver from internet just specify the manufacturer of you sound device in search or if your using a built-in sound device use your manufacture computer cd for drivers or download also if you the device maker.

if you have formatted the whole drive then you cant do a system recovery, you have to reinstall the vista again plz ask your vendor

I faced the same problem i installed it. But got through it. See if this works for you too:

1. You have to install the software you downloaded from the tata site or from the CD you got with the MODEM. Do this without attaching the MODEM to the laptop.

2. Once done, insert the MODEM into the USB drive. The Windows will automatically search drivers for USB MODEM and QualCoMM drivers and install it.

After it shows the success message, click the Tata Indicom Dialer and check. The problem should not appear again.

get the winXP driver MEMu1.50 (still available), there are no Vista drivers. Run the installation using WinXP emulation in Vista. You must run the installation as if you are in XP, not necessary when using the scanner subsequently. Now the Memorex 48u works on a Dell Dimension, running Windows Vista Home Premium. Hope this helps. I got the scannner for $14 after rebates at Staples years ago, it won't die.
