Attempting to scan to enything, I get the message:scan was not successful. The solutions given are: is power on; disconnect and reconnect the USB cable; disconnect and reconnect the All-in-one power cable; restart your computer.
I've done all of the options and still I get the same response.
Can you help?
Hello I have the same problem with my scanner, the light doesn't turn on, where can I buy the lamp? I have been looking in many pages, but I can not find where, thanks

Hi, Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. If it did not work there may be other issues I can help you with. If you need help feel free to get in touch. I am retired at 42 and I do this for fun so there is no charge for my help. I have 2 Deans list degrees one in computer science and one in electronic engineering so I'm pretty sure we can get this fixed for you. Anyway, Let me know if you fixed it or not. If not I'm always available.

Did you make sure the scanning bulb is lighting during the scan. If no replace the light bar. If you reinstalled the software with the printer unplugged until you are asked to do so by the software and it still gives you scan was not successful message the optical pick up sensor in your scanner needs to be cleaned. Carefully disassemble the unit until you have clear access to the optics. Clean them very gently with real windex and use newspaper to dry it as not to leave behind any lint on the optics. If the CCD imaging unit can not see what it is scanning you will also get this message. I always make sure it is not a software problem before I suggest a physical repair. As long as you are careful and set the parts and screws don in the order you take them out a trained monkey can put it back together. Ge gentle when cleaning Charge Coupled Device imaging unit prism as it is a long thin glass piece and it will snap if you apply too much pressure. Make sure there are no streaks or particles or there will be unwanted artifacts in your scans.
If none of these solutions work it is a circiutry problem and I am not going to type 30 pages to teach you how to troubleshoot and repair a main circuit board. If this is the case you would be better off spending the 100 bucks on a new scanner Then paying it to a repair man to fix a problem of this magnitude. Try these.
