Installed new HP 74 and 75 cartridges.

First, try to clean the print head by following the steps below:
1. Remove the old ink cartridges and clean the print head nozzle with a damp cotton swab to remove any dried ink.
2. Reinstall the new ink cartridges and print a test page.
3. If the test page is still blurry, try running the printer's alignment utility. This is typically accessed through the printer's settings or system preferences.
4. If the alignment utility doesn't help, try manually doing an alignment page directly from your computer. Be sure to follow the instructions from the printer manual or from the printer manufacturer's website.
5. If the alignment page is still blurry, try reinstalling the cartridges to ensure the cartridges are securely in place.
6. If all else fails, you may need to replace the ink cartridges

How do i find ink levels in Windows 8 for HP Office Jet J4580

It depends on what type of ink cartridge you have installed.....with HP genuine ink cartridges and HP Solution center installed, everything should be there. However, if you get an HP integrated ink cartridge refilled (i.e. HP 60, 61, 74, 75, 901, 92-98....currently offered at Costco or Frys today) or if you buy a remanufactured/compatible HP ink cartridge, the ink levels will not be displayed nor can they be reset (HP has a smart chip embedded within the nozzle plate at base of ink cartridge which counts the drops and then registers as empty).....so you'll just need to live with it and ignore 'ink low', 'non-genuine', 'counterfeit' messages and similar while you are using these types of aftermarket supplies. The first video below provides an overview of the 'low ink' phenomena.

NOTE: These types of 'SEVERE' cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem" etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #901 / 901XL cartridge are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on all models which use HP 901 cartridges. I just changed the ink cartridges in my HP F4280 printer, and now documents are printing blurry, with horizontal alternating dark and light lines, as well as some smudging along the left margin. What can I...

Hi! You may want to try head cleaning to resolve the blurry prints. The smudge may be caused by a full waste ink pad. Try to replace the wastepad and it may resolve the problem. Hope this helps and have a good one!

Epson Stylus CX5000 blurry or smudged printing

epson uses pigmented ink and compatibles use dyes and thus if the paper is not of good quality then you can have this problem.

do the following

change the paper and try.

As there will be ink in the head and the ink feed tubes , print some 10 -15 copies of all color prints so that the original ink starts to get into the head and then the paper.

this should solve your problem

Also use your printer every 2 -3 days if you dont have any prints then give a noozle check and then switch off the printer. This will avoid the printer from doing a head clean very time you switch on the printer and also the ink will give you more output as there is less amount of head cleaning

bye
