Samsung rear screen projection TV issue

Replace Both of your STK ICs Big black ics will have part number on them example STK392-110 also there is 2 resistors 2.7 ohms near STK replace them Call Mats for Parts 1-800-628-1118

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence


These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

that sounds like the convergence section is bad. a tipical repair could range around $300 to $400

it sounds as though your convergence board is going out or gone out

Check for any reset button on the remote of your t.v..........set it to default setting and see if this trick works or not.......

I was able to do a search on your site, I guess I was not the olny one to have this problem, I think I can fix itnow. Had never owned a tv like this so I had no idea this was an issue :)

replace fuse looks like cap next to flyback transfomer FL231 it will be the one in the middle.there are 3 of them next to FBT.

The convergence chips in your tv have gone out. They control the three picture tubes and align them so that they create one picture on your screen. I recomend having a qualified technican replace them and realign you convergence. Thanks.

Convergence problems. FIrst try going into customer setup and seeing if convergence options are there and if adjustments can be made. unfortunately when the picture is bowed like that it idicates a complete loss of convergence which idicates one of three boards have gone bad.
