you do have a bad power supply

A hint--if the green power light comes on for a few moments and goes off do the self check this set has.

On the front of the set press and hold BOTH THE MENU AND INPUT (OR DEVICE) BUTTONS BOTH FOR AT LEAST 5 SECONDS. Release both buttons and look at the power button.

If this is the case the power light will blink a two digit error code--most common in this case is 2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks--it will repeat the code up to ten times.

1080 is a High Definition setting. If your Television is HD capabilities you need to make sure that the programming that you are viewing is being broadcasted in 1080. If it is not then you will see a difference in picture quality and sound. If no color at all and program being watch is HD programming check your connections on back of Television. depending on what kind of input the Television is receiving you might need to try new cables or a new input.
