The printer is printing a yellow background on all pages. How do I get it to stop printing yellow?

1. Scroll to and touch Administration.
2. Scroll to and touch Troubleshooting.
3. Touch PQ Troubleshooting.
4. Touch Print.
Chk PQ test pages, if yellow color arrests entire page?.. Two reasons
1. Yellow cartridge.. ( swap with another one & chk )
2. Chk yellow cartridge contacts, clean them with isopropyl alcohol.
Chk base contacts, broken?, dis placed?, not contacting?..etc ...Remove & refix DC controller board...

in the print out alone you can already know what print head is no working properly like missing color. if cleaning is not solving the issue this purging the print head. just read the user manual for the instruction

there is a cleaning utility "printhead clean" and printhead deep clean" under "maintenance" in the "printer properties". Try that first. If that doesn't help and there is definitely ink in the cartridge(s), you can remove the cartridges and soak the printheads in 5mm of hot water for 1/2 hour or so. DRY WELL then install back in printer and run "printhead deep clean".
Another way is to isolate the colour that doesn't print properly and print few pages in that colour (eg if yellow is not printing right...set out a full page of yellow background and print on high quality setting until yellow starts to print ok). This wastes less ink than the cleaning utility.

Most likely the yellow drum unit is causing that problem. The charge roller gets worn and makes whatever color it is in print out all the time. That would require replacing the yellow imaging unit.

If you look at the transfer belt, it will probly have yellow all over it. More than likely, by have a bad yellow toner.

Clean the yellow toner contacts in the printer, if this doesn't work replace the yellow toner. It's a high voltage problem which is normally caused by a defective cartridge.
