My pioneer 8400 keeps opening and close. - Audio Players & Recorders

When it closes it should hit a switch on the tray to keep it closed and start to play.

Yes, there is an OPEN/CLOSE sensor that is sending wrong "status" information to the printer.

If you had power this set on with the back off it will not work without closing the switch again and entering serv mode and reactvating . Call pioneer customer serv to get info to reset the unit. Must have pioneer remote to do this reset.

I bought some off brand rw-dvd's and the Pioneer would not recogzine them. The Maxell and the Sony work great. No problem with the r-dvd's.

Mine quit working completely, it keep opening and shutting itself and this morning it was opened when I got up and when I closed it the dvd hung up in it. This is the second time for the hangup and I had to take it apart to get the dvd out both time. This time it stopped working altogether. It just says Load across the front.

my 9600 gat the same problem.. been told the ribbon needs replacing they sell on ebay for about £30 or you can send ur h/u to pioneer to do but that will be more expensive..

you can try the following:
With the car off but iginition switch "on" ,press multicontrol until "face auto open"option comes. select "off" and see the result.
or
Press RESET with the iginition "on".
the default setting will be "auto open ".so select it "off".

When i put a cd into the tray the door will close. It will say its loading but then the cd tray will reopen again not allowing the cd to play.
