My Pioneer PDR 555-RW keeps
That's just a MONITOR indication. It means you can SEE the audio from the selected input on the record level meters for adjustment or other reasons. It won't prevent you from recording. Set your levels then hit RECORD, let it set itself up and calibrate to the disc, start your source and hit Play or Pause to start recording to the disc.

Do I just push finalize to finish the burning of
after you've finished recording press 'finalize' the recorder will then get ready for finalizing and then a countdown time will appear in the display eg '1:20' once this appears press 'play' and the recorder will start to finalize and the digits will count down to zero, once this has finished, your disc is finalized.

I'm looking for a Service Manual for Pioneer PDR555RW CD Recorder
Here's a site that has the service manual and service guide (you need both). They have 2 copies of the service manual (the second and third links); you only need one of them.

Repair for failure to recognize any type of CD for the Pioneer PD-R555RW
UPDATED 15 Jan 2010!
If your PD-R555RW will not recognize any type of CD - it flashes CD? CD-R? CD-RW? repeatedly and then stops with CHECK DISC displayed - the problem is likely to be a leaking "supercap" on the Servo Digital board. The supercap is designed to act like a battery and hold information about a CD if power is lost, but unfortunately it also tends to leak and badly corrode the circuit board.
There is more information in the
DIYAUDIO forums; see post #14 for the gory details.
(Post #7 there describes how to replace some capacitors and fix a voltage problem. I did this fix and my unit mostly worked for a while, but it didn't fix anything permanently and at this point I'm sure that the circuit board corrosion was my real problem.)
Resume problems
You need to get the disc out. First try leaving it disconnected for a few days, then try holding eject as you power up, then try manually gently pulling the drawer open when powered off. The test mode on this unit needs an internal jumper shorting to activate not just a key sequence. Dissassembly is fairly straightforward to get the disc out, I have the service manual should you need it,

I can not get my CD recorder to record
You should use consumer cd's that are rather expensive. You probably tried to record a recordable cd-rom (a cheap computer disc). It's not possible to burn a pro-disc (computer disc) by using your Pioneer, and that's why you got that message on the screen. Refer to the user manual of your cd recorder and learn what sort of blank cd you should use.

Pioneer xv-htd540 5 disc dvd/cd changer surround sound system TIMER LIGHT KEEPS ON BLINKING
The timer light constantly blinking on a Pioneer XV-HTD540 5 disc DVD/CD changer surround sound system could indicate a few different issues. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:
- Check the connections: Make sure that all cables are securely connected to the system, including the power cable, audio cables, and any other cables that may be required for your setup.
- Reset the system: Unplug the system from the power source, wait for a few seconds, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve any issues that may be causing the timer light to blink.
- Check the discs: If you have any discs in the changer, remove them and try turning the system on without them. Sometimes, a dirty or damaged disc can cause the timer light to blink.
- Perform a factory reset: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, a factory reset of the Pioneer XV-HTD540 may be necessary. This will restore the unit to its original settings and resolve any software-related issues.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to seek further assistance from the manufacturer or a professional repair service. It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines when attempting to repair or troubleshoot your system to avoid damaging the unit or causing potential harm.
Source changes itself on my pioneer AVH-X491BHS
Hi there! It sounds like you're having some issues with your Pioneer stereo.
For the first issue, it could be due to a faulty connection or a software issue. To troubleshoot, first check all the connections between the head unit and the speakers to make sure they are securely connected. If the connections are secure, then check the wiring connections to make sure they are not loose or frayed. If the wiring connections are good, then the problem could be with the head unit itself and you may need to contact a professional for further assistance.
For the second issue, it could be due to a faulty connection, a wiring issue, or a software issue. To troubleshoot, first check the speaker wires to make sure they are connected properly and not loose or frayed. If the wires are secure, then you should check the setting on your amplifier or stereo to make sure the rear speakers are enabled. If the rear speakers are enabled, then the problem may be with the wiring or with the head unit itself and you may need to contact a professional for further assistance.
