I have a Neptune AG , The power will come on but I cant change settings or start washer. The child lock light is on but I dont know if it has always been on or how to shut it off. What's the problem?

On the GE GFWN1100LWW the Lock light indicates that the Child Lock (Panel Lock) is enabled. Press and hold the Lock touch pad for 3+ seconds. The light will go out. (Note: if you hold that button for too long, the lock will disengage and then reengage.)

The lock is useful to avoid having someone change the settings or start the washer when they shouldn't. (For example, you don't want to start or change the cycle settings on the washer while cleaning the control panel's surface.)

I dont know if you can erase the child lock but if your universal remote has a settings button you should be able to turn the child lock off through the setting menu

You can use the child lock feature in 2 ways.

1. To prevent operation of the washing machine when no wash cycle is running

To set this feature, switch the machine on using the POWER button at the top-left of the control-panel. Next, press and hold both the SPIN and RINSE buttons for about 3 seconds - until the child lock light indicator on the control panel illuminates. All functions of the washing machine will now be disabled apart from POWER ON/OFF until such time as the child lock is deactivated.

To deactivate the child lock, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons again until the child lock light indicator on the control panel goes out.

2. To prevent any tiny fingers from tampering with the machine while a program is running.

After pressing the START/PAUSE button to start the wash cycle, press and hold the SPIN and RINSE buttons until the child lock light indicator illuminates. All buttons on the control panel will now be disabled until the child lock has been disabled. When the wash cycle has finished, you will need to switch the child lock off again to reactivate the buttons. Once you have finished using the washer, reactivate the child lock again before switching the power off as above.

The feature can also be used when using the delayed start feature, but needs to be set after pressing the START/PAUSE button.

Samsung machines error codes are numbers and letters, then I the machine is not in fault mode, but child lock has likely kicked in.

Try the following:

ACTIVATING/DEACTIVATING
If you want to activate/deactivate the Child Lock function, press the Soil Level and Signal
buttons at the same time for 3 seconds.
How It Works:
1. "Child Lock" can be activated while your Washer is running.
2. Once you activate "Child Lock", all controls (except for the Power button) will be locked
until you deactivate "Child Lock".
3. The Child Lock button will be lit while it is in effect.

Hello,look for a button with possibly a lock emblem beside it ..usually has to be held down 3-5 sec to unlock.

there should be a child safety where it will lock the control panel read all the keys and small print. press and hold the key till the light turns off see if this helps and let me know

HI I KNOW IT SOUNDS DAFT BUT HAVE YOU TRIED SWITCHING THE CHILD LOCK OFF? I CANT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHICH BUTTONS IT IS ON YOUR MODEL BUT YOU USUALLY HAVE TO PRESS 2 BUTTONS AT THE SAME TIME (& SOMETIMES HOLDING THEM FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS) RATHER THAN JUST 1 TO SWITCH THE CHILD LOCK ON/OFF. IF YOU STILL HAVE THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IT WILL TELL YOU WHICH BUTTONS YOU PRESS TO SWITCH CHILD LOCK ON/OFF HOPE THIS HELPS!

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 5 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

DONT KNOW THE UNIT BUT ALMOST CERTAINLY A SELECTION OF BUTTONS CAN BE PRESSED TO RESET BACK TO FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS. BOOK SHOULD DESCRIBE HOW.
