Follow the ling bellow, download the driver for the OS you running, install the drivers on you PC and you will be fine.

I suggest emailing lexmark and telling them u need a disc for a Lexmark X2550 printer. Maybe tell em yours didnt come with one when u bought it and be firm...or you can continue to try and download it from the internet.

Go to Lexmark website to download the print driver. You may be able to find the the complete install file there also. If the printer is extremely old there is a very good chance it may not work with Vista. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Margaret,
Unfortunatly your operating system is not supported by this printer. By using such an aged Windows version, please be mindful to review the supported operating systems on the side of the box of any hardware (e.g. printers, cameras) or software that you may purchase in the future.
My personal recomendation would be to upgrade to least Windows XP if your computer is equipped with the processor and ram to do so. You are going to find yourself running to this situation more and more as the generations of Windows progress.
If this is not an option for you, simply find an alternate printer that is supported by Win98 and return the one you've purchased.
