This machine ran out of toner today, but didn't give a local notification that it was low. I have tried to find the setting to enable this notification via the printer's web page, but am unable to find it. Can you point me in the right direction? hp 4015

You say you have checked the toner and there is "enough inside", I don't know how you can check this and the error suggests that the cartridge needs replacing. Have you tried a new cartridge ? This is the first step.
Is the cartridge you get the error with a Ricoh cartridge or a compatible. If compatible this could be the cause of your error.

Try these solutions:
1. Go to settings > accounts > Google > **your email**@gmail.com > Enable Gmail sync
2. Settings > Mobile Data > Gmail > Restrict access disabled
3. Settings > Mobile Data > (menu button) > Enable Sync
4. Settings > Applications > (scroll right to all) > Gmail > Show Notifications enabled
5. Gmail > (menu button) > Settings > **your email**@gmail.com > Enable Notifications and enable Sync gmail.

*Note that I'm using a dutch language on my phone so the terms I used are guessed translations, actual buttons might have a somewhat different text on your phone.

Check the filter to be sure it is clear.

This means that the toner is low and the machine is waiting for the empty signal OR it has been disabled as part of a software update. It has no effect on the operation of the machine.

this warning comes early to give you time for purchasing new toner, it is still enough toner for about 100 to 150 outprints in the cardrige, this depense on how the print is used by % if you have always a full page the toner might not last for 1000 prints.

Press Start->Connect To -->Show all connections.
If the Local Area Connection icon is crossed with a red X, right click it and choose (Enable, or Repair).
If there is no Local Area Connection icon, you must create a connection.
In the left panel in Network Connection window click create new connection.
1.The wizard pops up
2.Click Next.
3.Put a (dot)mark in Connect to the Internet .
4.Click Next
5.Choose Set up my connection manually
6.Click Next Choose the type of connection you have with you ISPN (dial up, etc.)
7. Click Next , and follow the instruction from here.

Remove the toner cart. ang gently shake it from side-to-side (like panning for gold). re-install. If still bad return to store and try another. This is assuming that the machine was workng when toner ran out.

Cartridge is defective. I suspect it was a 'compatible' or remanufactured unit vs. an original. Replace it and it will work fine.

Try to click the bell icon when you set your alarm and see if you have checked the box for "play sound".
Also, verify if your volume is up and not in "Off" mode.
Also, go to Settings, click Sounds and Notifications. Verify if you were able to check the "Enable sounds for programs" box and make sure the notifications box is checked.
And on the notifications tab select "Reminders" from the drop down menu for "Event" and ensure that "Play sound" and "repeat" are checked.

is your cartrige genuine? if it does try to cold reset the unit. shut down the unit, press the stop button and hold it while you turn it up. then wait for 3 sec. to release, it will initialize.
