The print queue is what is locked up. Try deleting the items in the print queue.
Start by pausing the print queue. Then delete the items in the queue one by one.
When you have the last print job in the queue it will probably be jammed up in the transition between the computer and printer. Switch off the printer. This should cause the printer on the computer to become offline.
Try deleting this job abain. If it dissapears then turn the printer back on making sure the computer understands the printer is back online. Then try printing again.
If it does not dissapear then you will need to restart the computer to free up this job. When the computer is back up and running check the print queue again. If the job is gone then turn the printer back on and try printing again. If it is not gone then try once again to delete the print job and it should dissapear this time.
Once the job is gone and the print queue is empty turn the printer back on and make sure the computer understands it is back online again.
Pull up 'My Computer' then click on 'Control Panel'. From the Control Panel, click on 'Printers and Faxes'. You will then see a list of Printers connected to the PC.
Delete pending print jobs to make sure that the correct document will be printed later and for you not to waste paper. Double click on the printer that you want to use, and a window will appear showing you a list of pending print jobs. Simply click on 'Cancel All Documents' from the 'Printer Menu'.
After you have deleted all pending print jobs, right click again on the printer icon and choose 'Use Printer Online'.
Try printing a test file, if it doesn't work the first time, reboot the PC.

Try pressing cancel on the printer first. Then, open the print queue by opening the printers folder, and double-clicking the printer icon for your printer. Try to select the jobs there and cancel them. If that doesn't work, turn off the printer, and wait for the title bar of the print queue to say "use printer offline". If it doesn't change on the title bar of the queue, then select "use printer offline" from the file menu of the print queue. Then try to delete the print job. If this still doesn't work, leave the printer off and reboot the computer, then try to delete the print job again if it is still in the queue. If none of these work, remove and then reinstall the printer as a last resort.
An offline condition can be caused by using third party ink or refilled cartridges.
To delete a print job that does not release the spooler, look at the bottom right of your screen. You should see a small printer icon. Double click on that icon to open the print queue Highlight the failing print job and then delete it.

I understand that you are unable to print and when ever u try to print the jobs stuck in queue...
When we right click on the icon if we see a option use printer online this shows that the printer is offline, if we see a option use printer offline in the list then this shows that the printer is online status.
To resolve the issue we have to first clear the job in queue.
Open the printer folder and then double click on the HP printer icon this will show the jobs in queue just right click on each job in queue and select cancel to clear the job in queue if there are still jobs in queue we have to performe the restart the print spooler steps by keeping the usb cable disconnected so that all the jobs are clear when the spooler is restarted.
One the spooler is restarted just reconnect the usb cable and check if there are any jobs in queue.
If there are no jobs in queue we can move ahead an set the print directly settings.
Steps to set the print directly settings:
Right click on the printer icon and select properties then click on the advance tab and under it select the option print directly to printer and click on apply and Ok to save the settings.
Once done try to print to check with the issue.
If the issue presists you can try to check with the port settings.
Right click on the printer icon and select properties and then click on the ports tab and check if the virtual usb001 port is selected if not select it and click on apply and ok to save the settings if you don't see any usb port check if you have dot4 port in the port list select it and save the setting and try to print this should resolve the issue..
Once done try to print and if the issue presists you can try to refresh the usb ports.
This will re-detect the usb drivers for printer and you will be able to print after restarting the computer.
Unplug it and then re plug it in; I suggest USB connection over anything else; don't worry about self install if you already have done so in the past. In the print > hit properties on the icon for bubblejet > go to the ports tab > scroll all thw way to the bottom and click the "USB" checkbox. and you should be good.
