Offline problem...won't print

I'm on XP. I delete printer...then add printer...reinstall the 2100 CD. I try and print. It says that the printer is offline. I check, scroll down in properties, and the only thing I can click on is "offline"...so I do...then my printer icon says that it's "offline - offline". I undo the 1st offline, so the icon reads "offline". I purge the print job and the "offline" disappears and beside the 2100 icon is "ready"....but still nothing prints out. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Unplug it and then re plug it in; I suggest USB connection over anything else; don't worry about self install if you already have done so in the past. In the print > hit properties on the icon for bubblejet > go to the ports tab > scroll all thw way to the bottom and click the "USB" checkbox. and you should be good.

Go to start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>services.

Scroll down the list to "print spooler." Right click on this and choose the "restart" option.

This should fix the problem and print any stuck print jobs.

Just set up cannon PIXMA MX870 printer. Cannot get it to print from wireless connection. In my printer box it says the printer is offline. It will print when I connect the printer with a cable. I use a...

I had the same problem - my printer showed that wireless LAN was enabled & my mac showed the printer but said it was offline. I went to preferences, print & fax, hit the + key to add a printer, added the canon printer again, set that printer as my default, did a print command from Word & that created a queue in the new default printer ... and it printed. Deleted the first Canon printer that was "offline." Oh, and I'm not sure if it made a difference, but before what I just described, I checked for software updates after the printer CD install process & uploaded one update.

Printer status reads "printer offline"

Could be several things causing this. You said it is a network printer, but then said primary computer is XP. Is it hooked to the XP machine? From my experience, printers on XP machines occasionally lose their drivers. Go to the XP machine and make sure the printer is in the printer folder, and active. Do a test print to be sure. Then make sure it is still shared (things like this can change with updates). If all this is OK, go to the Vista machine and remove the printer. Then go to add printers, and add a network printer. Sometimes, if it is a network printer, it will show up in "my network" - if so, right click and add printer. If you add the printer usually the computer will use the currently installed drivers. If it is a shared printer, go to network, double click the XP machine, and the shared printer should be there. right click and add. Once you have it working, go to printers and delete or remove the faded-out printers that don't work and be sure to set the newly installed printer as your default.

Printer says offline

Try to refresh the Print Queue. Go to System preferences then select Print and Fax. Highlight NX100 and click on the minus sign ( - ) to delete the printer. Re-add the printer by clicking on the plus sign ( + ).

HP psc 2410 xi went offline on its own. I checked

you may have to add another print driver
if you still have the cd try to add a device from the cd if not you may either have to uninstall and reinstall software or add a printer in your control panel in either printers or printer and faxes--win xp
