Try another Media Player, it may be the File Format. Try this freeware Media Player, VLC, 32 or 64bit?, found here along with Real Player Media Player: http://www.filehippo.com/download_vlc_32/ You can find many freeware/shareware programs here: http://www.filehippo.com/
Try to upgrade the driver for the DVD player. This is done in the Device Manager. Upgrade or reinstall the software used to play the DVD. One of the best players for DVD and all sorts of other media is the VLC player - a free download.
I had the same problem, After googling for a few minutes I found the reset procedure for this player.
1. Turn it on. 2. Eject any disk you have in there and close the tray. 3. Hold down the "STOP" button on the player (not remote) until the green light flashes red and the system reboots. 4. Insert disk and enjoy.
those kinda players wont play DVD rom disks and certain ones that are made up. DVD-RAM or ROM wont work. Try blowing inside the player for any dust. if it still doesnt work its the maufacters problem.
The player will play CD-G audio only, not graphics
The ability to play back DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, CD-R, CD-RW, and CD-Jpeg discs may depend on recording conditions.
