that happened when i first got my mp4. i just left it on charge for a few hours and eventually it turned on. it should tell you when its fully charged.
theres two ways mine can turn on; (its most likely very different to yours though) theres a little switch on the top of the player and you flick that to the left side. or if its been turned on recently, you can hold the play button. does the instructions say to press the ok button?
As said cables, possibly loose or damaged, Are up up to it, open it up and have a look, You are the only one who knows if you can do it, It is possible
hey bro just solved the same issue =] plug your zune player into your laptop desktop ect. and activate the lock switch the charging symbol should pop on and let it charge and your set.
I had this problem a few months ago, what is wrong is, you have a bad driver, something that you can do is switch the USB mode, this should work. If you have tried to the driver and switch the USB mode and it still doesn't work, then let me know.
same problem with mine right now -- I find if you charge it fully then reset it multiple times between testing it then the sound works about 50% of the time. Havent found a real solution yet though.
